摘要： A card reader includes: a shutter member closing off a card passageway; a shutter urging member urging the shutter member toward a closed position where the card passageway is closed off; and a lever member having: a card contact part with which a card coming into contact in a case where a width of the card is a regular width and a restriction part restricting operation of the shutter member at the closed position; and a lever urging member urging the lever member toward a restriction position where the restriction part restricts the operation of the shutter member. When the card comes into contact with the card contact part, a restricted state of the shutter member by the restriction part is released. When the card comes into contact with the shutter member and then the shutter member is pressed, the shutter member operates for allowing passage of the card.

摘要： A card reader may include a card conveying mechanism; a guide; a magnetic head; a positioning member to position the card relative to the magnetic head; and a shutter. The positioning member may include a card abutting part to abut a third direction end of the card; and a card support part to contact a first direction side of the card. A distance between the card abutting part and a third direction end of the guide is shorter than a width in the short-side direction of the card. When the shutter has closed, a fourth direction end of the shutter is disposed on a first direction side of the guide. When the shutter has opened the opening, the shutter is disposed on the first direction side of the guide. The third direction end of the card may be guided to the card support part by the shutter.

The card reader comprises a slot configured to receive the payment card, a magnetic reading device and an IC chip reading device. The card reader also includes a discriminator contact disposed within the slot that is configured to conduct across a surface of a metal pad of the IC chip-type card prior to the CI chip reading device making contact with the IC chip.

摘要： A card reader may include a card insertion part which is formed with an insertion port for the card; and a conveying passage for the card which is connected with the insertion port. The card insertion part may include a shutter member disposed on a rear side with respect to the insertion port is movable between a closed position an open position; and a protruding member which is attached to the shutter member and is protruded from the shutter member to an insertion port side. An insertion port side of the protruding member may be formed with a card abutting face. A distance between the insertion port and the card abutting face in a conveying direction of the card may be set to be shorter than a width in the short widthwise direction of the card.

摘要： In a card processor having a function of intermittently transporting a magnetic card, card information is prevented more effectively from being illegally acquired by a skimmer mounted on a card slot. Transport rollers are mounted near the card slot. When a sensor turns ON as a card is inserted into the card slot, the transport rollers are intermittently driven to intermittently transport the card and fetch it in the card processor. Since the card is intermittently transported approximately at the same time when the card is inserted, even if a skimmer SK is mounted on the card slot, information skimmed with a magnetic head H of the skimmer SK during card insertion is only little information in a range a, and most of information will not be skimmed.
