Abstract:
An image forming apparatus connected to a charging device includes an image forming unit, a fixing unit, a charge processor, a controller, and a printed sheet counter. The charge processor charges a fee for printing. The controller selects an energy saving mode, upon deciding that a balance of a deposited amount in the charging device is less than a threshold amount. The printed sheet counter counts the number of sheets of the recording medium printed by the image forming unit in one single printing job. The controller selects the energy saving mode for the next printing job, upon deciding that the number of sheets printed in one single printing job is less than a predetermined threshold number of sheets, when the deposit balance is remaining in the charging device.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes: a transfer unit, a reflectance sensor, a time-series data acquiring unit, and a transfer-unit rotation-time calculating unit. The time-series data acquiring unit is configured to acquire time-series data with respect to the image carrier background-portion reflectance, measured by the reflectance sensor, as reference data over a time period twice longer than a time period that by design the image carrier requires for one cycle, and as advance/delay data over a time period twice longer than a time period longer or shorter in multiples of a predetermined time interval than the by-design time period. The transfer-unit rotation-time calculating unit is configured to calculate a one-cycle-time calculation value that is the time actually required for one cycle of the image carrier, based on the reference data and the advance/delay data acquired by the time-series data acquiring unit.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes an image forming portion, a curling correction portion, and a speed control portion. The image forming portion forms an image on a recording medium. The curling correction portion has one pair of rollers composed of members that respectively have different elasticities and are pressed against each other, and corrects curling that has occurred in the recording medium after image formation performed thereon by the image forming portion, by conveying the recording medium sandwiched with the roller pair. The speed control portion changes a conveyance speed of the recording medium by the roller pair based on a density value of an image formed on the recording medium.
Abstract:
An image formation system includes an image forming apparatus and an inserter. The image forming apparatus includes an image forming device, a conveyance device, and a control device. The control device functions as a controller and an executor. The controller allows the inserter to insert an interleaving paper between sheets of printed material at an insertion start timing specified by a print job. When the plurality of calibrations include a second calibration capable of being completed within an interleaving paper insertion time required to insert the interleaving paper or a third calibration capable of being completed within a total time of the interleaving paper insertion time and a predetermined additional time, the executor executes the second calibration or the third calibration in time with the insertion start timing.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes a pair of registration rollers, a pair of intermediate rollers, a registration sensor, and a control section that performs rotation control on the pair of registration rollers and the pair of intermediate rollers. The control section changes a starting timing of slowdown control according to a time when the registration sensor detects arrival of recording paper. The control section changes a period of time from completion of the slowdown control to start of increasing the rotational speed of the pair of registration rollers and the rotational speed of the pair of intermediate rollers from a lower speed limit to a steady state speed according to the change of the starting timing of the slowdown control.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, a curling correction portion, a curling direction determination portion, and a rotation control portion. The image forming portion forms an image on a recording medium. The curling direction determination portion determine a direction of curling in a recording medium in which images forms on both surfaces thereof, based on an image density of each of both surfaces of the recording medium in which the images forms on both surfaces thereof. The rotation control portion is configured to rotate the curling correction portion such that the curling correction portion is set in an orientation for correcting the curling that has occurred in the recording medium, in a direction opposite to the direction of the curling determined by the curling direction determination portion.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes print engine portion, paper sheet detectors, and control portion. Control portion stop paper sheet conveyance, when detecting occurrence of jam. Control portion determines fixing nip position which is position of the fixing nip portion on fixing stop paper sheet, on basis of outputs of paper sheet detectors. When fixing nip position is located at leading end side half of fixing stop paper sheet in paper sheet conveying direction, control portion rotates fixing motor in reverse direction to convey fixing stop paper sheet to upstream side in paper sheet conveying direction. When fixing nip position is located at rear end side half of fixing stop paper sheet in paper sheet conveying direction, control portion rotates fixing motor in a forward direction to convey fixing stop paper sheet toward a downstream side in paper sheet conveying direction.
