Abstract: A multi-emission quantum dot includes a first core having a first thickness along an axis from a first surface to a second surface of the first core, a first shell enclosing the first core, a second core surrounding the first shell. The second core may has a second thickness along the same axis smaller than the first thickness. The quantum dot also includes a second shell enclosing the second core. The first core may be configured to emit light of a first color, and the second core may be configured to emit light of a second color different from the first color.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a quantum rod composition, a quantum rod film, a display device with a quantum rod film, and a method of forming a quantum rod film. The quantum rod film includes a plurality of quantum rods and a polymer with a dipole side chain. Responsive to an external electric field, the major axis of the quantum rods and an axis of the dipole side chain arranges in the same direction. The display device includes a plurality of pixel and common electrodes for generating an electric field, and a backlight unit positioned under a first substrate. Responsive to receiving light from the backlight unit, the quantum rod film emits light polarized in a direction parallel to the major axis of the quantum rods.

Abstract: A quantum rod light-emitting display device according to an embodiment of the invention includes a display panel including a first substrate, a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, and a quantum rod layer formed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein a plurality of quantum rods are arranged in the quantum rod layer in one direction; and a polarizer disposed on the display panel and including a quarter wave plate (QWP) layer and a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) layer, wherein the PVA layer transmits only light linearly polarized in a first direction, and wherein the QWP layer is disposed under the PVA layer, and the QWP layer circularly polarizes the light linearly polarized in the first direction or linearly polarizes light reflected by the display panel in a second direction.
