Abstract: Infusion devices, systems, and related operating methods are provided. A method of detecting an occlusion in a fluid path involves a control module of an infusion device operating a driver module to provide energy to an actuation arrangement to achieve a commanded actuation state, wherein the actuation arrangement is coupled to a plunger configured to deliver fluid via the fluid path, obtaining a measured actuation state of the actuation arrangement via a sensing arrangement, and detecting an occlusion condition based on a relationship between the commanded actuation state and the measured actuation state.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a battery, a system load, a switch in an electrical connection path between the battery and the system load, a non-contact sensor configured to detect a wireless control signal associated with an instruction, a control circuit configured to open the switch to disconnect the battery and the system load in response to the detected wireless control signal, and a charging interface configured to receive electric power from an external source, where the control circuit and the non-contact sensor are powered through the charging interface rather than the battery.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to ingress-tolerant input devices. Aspects of the disclosure relate to an ingress-tolerant switch assembly for operating an electronic device in an ingress-protected manner. The switch assembly includes a button configured to be coupled to an outer surface of an enclosure of the electronic device. The switch assembly also includes a spring operably coupled to the button and a magnet coupled to the spring. A pressing force applied by a user to the button overcomes a spring force of the spring to move the magnet into proximity of the magnetic sensor to cause the magnetic sensor to generate a sensor signal for performing a function of the electronic device.

Abstract: A linear voltage regulator with isolated supply current is disclosed. The voltage regulator is configured and controlled such that its output current closely matches its input current (any quiescent current consumed by the regulator is negligible relative to the amount of current passed by the regulator). In certain implementations, the voltage regulator is implemented as an analog component. In other implementations, the voltage regulator includes or cooperates with digital elements, such as an analog-to-digital converter, a digital processing core, or a digital-to-analog converter.

Abstract: A method for automatically configuring a medical device with user-specific configuration data includes determining, by a first medical device, that the first medical device is being placed into service to provide medical therapy to a patient, wherein the first medical device is a replacement medical device for a second medical device that was previously placed into service to provide medical therapy to the patient in accordance with user-specific configuration data stored on the second medical device, communicating, by the first medical device, data indicative of the first medical device being placed into service, after communicating the data indicative of the first medical device being placed into service, obtaining, by the first medical device, the user-specific configuration data stored on the second medical device, and configuring, by the first medical device, the first medical device to provide therapy in accordance with the obtained user-specific configuration data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to diagnostic procedures and related device architectures that check the operating health of a display element of a host electronic device. In certain embodiments, a display apparatus for an electronic device includes a display element, a display controller, a conductive trace, and a detection circuit. The display element has an array of pixel elements formed overlying a substrate and arranged to define a viewable display area. The display controller is coupled to control activation of the array of pixel elements. The conductive trace is formed overlying the substrate and is arranged to bypass the display controller in a layout that does not interfere with visibility of the pixel elements. The detection circuit is coupled to the conductive trace, and it operates to check electrical continuity of the conductive trace to obtain an indication of health of the display element.
