摘要: The storage system includes a plurality of storage nodes and a control device coupling unit. Each of the storage nodes includes at least one storage device configured to store data and at least one control device configured to control input and output of data for the storage device. The control device coupling unit is configured to connect the control devices without using an access path between the control device and a host computer connected to the storage system. The control devices connected by the control device coupling unit are included in mutually different storage nodes.

摘要: A storage system is disclosed for performing control to match data among cache memories corresponding to shared volumes when multiple disk controllers containing cache memories are accessing shared volumes formed in the storage device. The storage system contains a switch for switching and connecting the multiple disk controllers containing cache memories, with a disk array containing the shared volumes capable of being commonly accessed from the multiple disk controllers. The switch performs exclusive access control of the multiple disk controllers' writing on the shared volumes, and performs control to match data other than modified data among the cache memories.

摘要: The present invention suppresses the generation of redundant I/O and improves the response to the host during data migration. When migrating data from the migration source volume to the migration destination volume, the access destination of the host is switched to the second storage device. When data requested by the host has not yet been migrated, data is read from the first storage device. When the frequency of access to the non-migrated area reaches a prescribed value, the target IP address is changed and discovery is implemented so as to switch the access destination of the host to the first storage device. When the frequency of access to the migrated area in the first storage device reaches a prescribed value, the access destination of the host is switched to the second storage device. The access destination of the host is controlled based on the data migration state and access state, and the generation of redundant I/O can be suppressed.

摘要: A storage system comprises a plurality of storage nodes and a controller coupling unit interconnecting controllers within the storage nodes. A memory in the controller has a plurality of shared memory areas each associated with a combination of one CPU core with one logical unit controller. When a network controller of a first storage node receives a host command addressed to a logical unit of a second storage node, the CPU core of the first storage node stores the host command in the shared memory area associated with the logical unit controller of the second storage node. The logical unit controller of the second storage node acquires the stored host command in the shared memory area via the controller coupling unit.

摘要: A storage controller of the present invention enables a larger number of storage devices to be mounted while keeping the installation size small. A plurality of sub-storage units are disposed inside a high density-type storage unit. The respective sub-storage units comprise a plurality of hard disk drives, controller, memory, power supply device, and display part. The respective sub-storage units operate independently of one another. A controller creates a management table based on management data acquired from the respective sub-storage units. The user is notified when there is an error in the table contents. A display part lights up in accordance with an indication from a storage unit specification part, notifying the user of the location of the sub-storage unit.

This storage subsystem includes a controller for controlling the input and output of data to and from a storage apparatus that provides to a host computer a plurality of logical units to become a storage extent for the host computer to read and write data, processes a command issued by the host computer, and has a storage resource in relation to the logical unit. The controller has a local memory for storing the command, and a processor configured from a plurality of cores for controlling the input and output of data to and from the logical unit to be subject to the input and output of the data based on the command. The local memory stores association information representing the correspondence between the plurality of logical units and the plurality of cores. Each of the plurality of cores processes the command to the logical unit to be handled by a self core based on the association information and executes I/O processing of the data to the logical unit.

摘要: Proposed is a storage controller and its control method for speeding up the processing time in response to a command in a simple manner while reducing the load of a controller that received a command targeting a non-associated logical volume. This storage controller includes a plurality of controllers for controlling the input and output of data to and from a corresponding logical unit based on a command retained in a local memory, and the local memory stores association information representing the correspondence of the logical units and the controllers and address information of the local memory in each of the controllers of a self-system and another-system. Upon receiving a command sent from a host computer, the controller determines whether the target logical unit is associated with the controller of a self-system or another-system based on the association information, and, when the logical unit is associated with the other-system controller, the controller transfers and stores the command to and in the corresponding other-system controller based on the address information.

摘要: When the capacity availability of buffer memory provided to an output port of a frame to be transferred is exceeding a predetermined value, a crossbar switch is used for path change of the frame. When the capacity availability of the buffer memory of the output port is the predetermined value or lower, the frame is written into shared memory. Then, the frame is read from the shared memory for transfer to the output port. By selectively performing frame transfer using the crossbar switch and frame transfer via the shared memory, the effects can be reduced even if the port buffer overflows, and the writing throughput can be favorably improved.
