Abstract:
A method of operating a radiation-detecting device includes charging a first charge storage region of a charge storage structure to place a first charge value at the first charge storage region, and charging a second charge storage region of the charge storage structure to place a second charge value at the second charge storage region. The method further includes conducting a first read operation to determine a change in the first charge value at the first charge storage region at a first time after charging the first charge storage region, and determining a first radiation flux value for an environment containing the charge storage structure based on the change in the first charge value at the first time.

Abstract:
Diabetic and other patients are treated using an aggressive form of Pulsed Insulin Therapy in which a pre-treatment blood sugar level in the patient of at least 250-300 mg/dL, and the patient is treated with at least first and second cycles, each cycle comprising (1) pulsing a recombinant human insulin to the patient in concentrations of more than 10% to achieve a target intra-treatment blood sugar level (BSL) swing of more than 100 mg/dL, and (2) raising the blood sugar level to at least 250-300 mg/dL.
Abstract:
A semiconductor package is discussed having a single CE signal during electrical test and a plurality of CE signals during normal operation thereafter. After electrical testing of the memory die during fabrication, the electrical traces carrying the single CE signal from the memory test pad matrix to each of the memory die may be severed. Severing the electrical traces from the memory test pad matrix electrically isolates the multiple electrical traces between the controller die and memory die, and allows separate and individual CE signals between the controller die and memory die during normal usage of the memory die.

Abstract:
Certain embodiments provide a method for selecting an allocation of character attributes in a gaming system including selecting a set of characters, aggregating outcome data, aggregating allocation data, determining a correlation between outcome data and allocation data, and selecting an allocation based at least in part on the determined correlation. The set of characters includes at least one character and each character includes a set of attributes. Each attribute has an associated attribute value adapted to be adjusted. Each character is associated with an outcome record based at least in part on a competition. Outcome data is based at least in part on outcome records. Allocation data is based at least in part on each set of attributes and attribute values associated with each attribute in each set of attributes. The correlation is based at least in part on which attributes and attribute values correspond to which outcomes.
Abstract:
A superconducting cable assembly includes a first annular passage disposed concentrically around the superconducting cable and having first and second ends and an inlet, a second annular passage disposed concentrically around the first passage and having first and second ends, wherein at least one of the first and second ends of the second passage is in communication with at least one of the first and second ends of the first passage, the second passage further having an outlet. A coolant provided by a cryogenic refrigeration system is directed through the inlet, passes through the first passage in a first direction, passes through the second passage in a second direction opposite to the first direction and exits the assembly through the outlet. With this arrangement, the superconducting cable is cooled to the critical temperature by coolant flowing through the first passage and the coolant flowing through the second passage intercepts ambient heat so as to act as a heat shield for the first passage.
Abstract:
There is provided an improved putting training apparatus and method wherein a golfer may observe, analyze, and record their putting swing. A putter supports two detachable, vertically aligned lasers, each adapted to selectively cast a beam towards a target disposed substantially perpendicular to the face of the putter. A first laser is momentarily illuminated when the putter head address the golf ball. The second laser is illuminated continuously both during the preparation for and during the putt. The second laser records on the target a complete transition of the club head during the time it is illuminated. A camera connected to a computer records the first and second laser traces on the target and provides feedback to the golfer regarding his putting swing. Putter head velocity is thereby easily determined. The lowest point in the arc may be readily compared to the actual point of impact with the ball.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for indicating the operational status of equipment (“tools”) used in semiconductor fabrication is provided. In one embodiment, the operational status of a tool is indicated by a mechanical sign attached to the tool. The sign contains indications of multiple operational statuses of the tool. The current operational status is indicated by covering the other possible operational statuses. The sign is constructed of materials that are compatible with the semiconductor fabrication environment. In a second embodiment, the operational status of a tool is indicated by illuminating a light. Lights for indicating possible operational statuses of the tool are attached to the tool. The lights may by illuminated by depressing a switch. Alternatively, the illumination of the lights may be controlled by a computer that also controls the operation of the tool. The computer may also cause an indication of the tool's operational status to be indicated on a monitor attached to the tool. An indication of a scheduled change in the tool's operational status may be indicated by flashing an appropriate light on and off at some predetermined time before the change occurs.
Abstract:
A system, computer-readable storage medium storing at least one program, and a computer-implemented method for providing a game action sweep mechanic are presented. A virtual game environment that includes a first virtual object and a second virtual object may be generated for a user. User interactions involving a game pointer and a selection input are then monitored. In response to detecting the selection input being activated while the game pointer is located proximate to the first virtual object, a game action is then performed on the first virtual object. A game action sweep mode is then activated. While the game action sweep mode is active, the game action is then performed on the second virtual game object in response to detecting the game pointer is located proximate to the second virtual object.
