摘要: Methods and systems for signal transmission in millimeter wave (mmW) range. A set of sequences is used to encode a data signal for one layer in a group of layers. Each sequence in the set of sequences has a length equal to the number of resources shared among the group of layers. At least a portion of the sequences have a low density of non-zero values, and the non-zero values are assigned to a subset of the shared resources. Each sequence assigns a non-zero value to at most one resource of the subset of shared resources, and all non-zero values assigned by all sequences have equal power amplitudes.

摘要: Methods and devices are disclosed for encoding and transmitting data sequences for low data rate applications. An encoded data sequence is transformed and used to shape a multi-carrier pulse to create a narrow-band signal for transmission. Time domain tails of the narrow-band signal may be removed to decrease overhead. The data may be first encoded to create a sparse modulated data sequence. Multi-carrier pulse shaping may be carried out using frequency division multiplexing (FDM) or filter bank multi-carrier (FBMC) techniques. Alternatively, single carrier pulse shaping may be used to create the narrow-band signal.

摘要: Systems and methods for detecting potentially active user equipment (UE) in a network are provided. A set of potentially active UEs is detected using an iterative method. In a first iteration UE detection is performed using compressed sensing (CS) based on first pilot sequences to detect a first set of potentially active UEs. Channel estimation is then performed for the first set of potentially active UEs. In subsequent iterations, UE detection is performed using CS to detect another set, typically reduced in size, of potentially active UEs using results of the channel estimation from the previous iteration. Channel estimation is then again performed for the new set of potentially active UEs. After the last iteration, the set of potentially active UEs detected in the last iteration is output as the determined set of potentially active UEs along with channel estimates for the set of potentially active UEs determined in last iteration.

摘要: Control signaling in multiple access communication systems, including apparatus and methods, is disclosed. Multiple access to a wireless communication link is based on power modulation division. Modulation information, capacity information, resource scheduling information, and resource assignment information is determined by a base station. Information is transmitted to user equipment devices in a common control channel in accordance with the determined modulation information, capacity information and resource scheduling information. Information is also transmitted to supporting user equipment, which supports the power modulation division multiple access, in a user equipment-specific control channel in accordance with the determined resource assignment information.

摘要: Nonzero elements of a signal vector, which may be a sparse signal vector, may be determined based on an observation vector representing a set of underdetermined observations using a compressed sensing optimization and a non-underdetermined estimation method such as iterative linear minimum mean-square error (“LMMSE”) estimation. Compressed sensing optimization may be used to obtain a subset of potentially nonzero elements of the signal vector, and LMMSE estimation may then be used to find the nonzero elements among the potentially nonzero elements. The identification of nonzero elements may then be used to recover the signal vector from the observation vector. This technique is useful for recovering compressed data such as a sparse frequency space representation of audio or video data from a measurement. The technique is also useful for identifying at a base station a relatively small number active devices in an overloaded communication network.

摘要: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing H-ARQ transmissions in respect of a set of horizontal code blocks are combined in a code. Retransmissions contain vertical parity check blocks which are determined from verticals from the set of horizontal code blocks. Once all the vertical parity check blocks have been transmitted, a new set may be determined after performing interleaving upon either the content of the horizontal code blocks, in the case of non-systematic horizontal code blocks, or over the content of encoder input bits in the place of systematic horizontal code blocks. The interleaving may be bitwise or bit subset-wise. The retransmissions do not contain any of the original bits. In the decoder, soft decisions are produced, and nothing needs to be discarded; decoding will typically improve with each retransmission.
