    摘要: In an image display device which forms an image by allowing electrons from electron sources which are arranged in a matrix array to impinge on phosphors in the inside of a vacuum envelope, the degree of vacuum during an operation of the image display device is improved. A vacuum envelope is formed of a face substrate, a back substrate and a support body which is arranged between and along peripheries of the face substrate and the back substrate using a sealing material. By using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as a main component for a material of the sealing material, due to a getter action of frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component, after vacuum evacuation, a lifetime of the display device can be prolonged. Further, by using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component for a material of an adhesive material which bonds the spacers and the face substrate or bonds the spacers and the back glass, the getter action can be further enhanced. Further, by applying frit glasses which contain vanadium oxide as a main component to side surfaces of the spacers or portions of the inside of the display device which do not influence the formation of image by coating, the getter action can be further enhanced.

The shadow mask of an iron-nickel alloy is suspended within a support frame, has a descending step portion around the imperforate portion, the skirt portion which is fitted in the support frame is integral with the descending step portion, is provided with plural beads parallel with a height of the skirt portion and protruding inward. The descending step portion satisfies one of conditions (a)-(c) of (a) its height is from 30% to 501 of H0, (b) its width is from 65% to 80% of W0, or (c) its height H and width W are from 30% to 50% of H0 and from 65% to 80% of W0, respectively, where H0 and W0 are its height and width at centerlines of long and short sides of the skirt portion, respectively.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube includes an evacuated envelope having a generally rectangular panel portion, a narrow neck portion having a circular cross-section and a funnel portion tapering down from a panel-portion side thereof toward a neck-portion side thereof for connecting the panel portion and the neck portion, a three-color phosphor screen formed on an inner surface of the panel portion, an electron gun housed in the neck portion, and an internal conductive film extending from an inner wall of the neck portion to an inner wall of the funnel portion. The funnel portion is provided with a yoke-mounting portion of generally truncated quadrilateral-pyramidal shape for mounting a beam deflection yoke therearound on the neck-portion side of the funnel portion. The internal conductive film is formed of a first part and a second part, the first part is formed of graphite, metallic oxide and potassium silicate, and the second part is formed of graphite and potassium silicate. The first part extends from the neck portion in the vicinity of a forward end of the electron gun to a position in the yoke-mounting portion spaced a distance in a range of 60 mm to 150 mm from a splice line between the neck portion and the funnel portion, and the second part overlaps with the first part at opposing ends thereof and extends to a vicinity of a seal line between the funnel portion and the panel portion.

A majority of the slits in the one of the long and shirt sides of the skirt portion are slits delimiting continuous openings in the skirt portion which are not bridged by members other than the support frame.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube is provided with a shadow mask structure which includes a shadow mask formed by integrally forming an apertured portion, an imperforate portion and a skirt portion, and a support frame having a frame portion into which the skirt portion is fitted. The skirt portion of the shadow mask has respective long sides and respective short sides thereof recessed inwardly, and the frame portion has respective long sides and respective short sides formed in planes having no welding bosses, and the skirt portion is fitted into and welded to the frame portion. Furthermore, an end of the outside of the skirt portion and the inner wall of the frame portion have respective entire peripheries thereof come into contact with each other. With such a construction, the shadow mask structure has a small magnetic resistance and the shadow mask is prevented from being vibrated at the time an external vibration is applied to the cathode ray tube. Furthermore, the shadow mask can be easily assembled and can provide an apertured portion which is free from deformation.

The width of the discharge preventing member SSB is arranged to be greater than the width of the scanning signal line s, and the dimensions are arranged so that the discharge preventing member SSB covers the scanning signal line s when viewed from the anode.

A generally rectangular support frame is provided for suspending the shadow mask by spot welding the skirt portion thereto within a panel portion of the color cathode ray tube. The skirt portion is provided with a plurality of slits extending in a direction of a height of the skirt portion and a plurality of embossments extending in the direction of the height of the skirt portion in one of a long side and a short side of the skirt portion. The plurality of slits and the plurality of embossments are juxtaposed around a circumference of the skirt portion with a majority of the plurality of slits in the one of the long side and the short side of the skirt portion being unbridged slits or with the plurality of slits extending a distance no greater than 70% of the height of the skirt portion from a rear end of the skirt portion on an opposite side thereof from the panel portion.
