    摘要： In an image display device which forms an image by allowing electrons from electron sources which are arranged in a matrix array to impinge on phosphors in the inside of a vacuum envelope, the degree of vacuum during an operation of the image display device is improved. A vacuum envelope is formed of a face substrate, a back substrate and a support body which is arranged between and along peripheries of the face substrate and the back substrate using a sealing material. By using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as a main component for a material of the sealing material, due to a getter action of frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component, after vacuum evacuation, a lifetime of the display device can be prolonged. Further, by using frit glass which contains vanadium oxide as the main component for a material of an adhesive material which bonds the spacers and the face substrate or bonds the spacers and the back glass, the getter action can be further enhanced. Further, by applying frit glasses which contain vanadium oxide as a main component to side surfaces of the spacers or portions of the inside of the display device which do not influence the formation of image by coating, the getter action can be further enhanced.

    摘要： It is an object to provide an electric conductive, Pb-free bonding material for securing spacers for display panels of display devices. The electric conductive bonding material as the first aspect of the present invention contains a V2O5-based glass as a main component, and particles of a metal selected from the group consisting of Pt, Pd, Cr, Ni, Al, Si, Zn, Au and Fe—Ni alloy, or of one or more species of electric conductive ceramics which can be selected from the group consisting of TiC, SiC, WC, ZnO, Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4, AgV7O18 and Ag2V4O11 at 10 to 50% by volume. The electric conductive bonding material as the second aspect of the present invention contains V2O5 at 55 to 75%, P2O5 at 15 to 30%, BaO at 0 to 25% Sb2O3 at 0 to 15% (total content of BaO and Sb2O3 adjusted at 5% or more), and GeO2 at 5 to 20% or Ag2O at 3 to 10%, all percentages by mass.

    摘要： On a back surface of a back substrate on which electron emission sources are formed, a getter room is formed by the back substrate and a cup-shaped room member. In the inside of the getter room, a getter assembly which includes a getter housing which holds a getter and a getter support which supports the getter housing is arranged. End portions of the getter support are fixed to and arranged between the back substrate and the room member by a sealing material. The present invention provides an image display device which prevents the occurrence of cracks in the getter room thus suppressing the degradation of a display characteristic of the image display device.

Both end faces of the support member is hermetically sealed to the rear and front substrates, respectively. A height of the spacing-maintaining members is greater than that of the support member.
