    Abstract: An iris recognition apparatus is provided with: an irradiating device that is capable of irradiating light to a target person to be recognized; an acquiring device that acquires a first image which imaged a first imaging range including at least a face of the target person; and a determining device that determines an irradiation mode of light irradiated from the irradiating device to the target person when imaging a second image including an area, which includes an eye of the target person, and corresponding to a second imaging range, which is narrower than the first imaging range, based on the first image.

    Abstract: An information presenting system includes: a specification unit that specifies a position of a biological part used for authentication from information about a target person; a setting unit that sets an imaging area in which the biological part is imaged, in accordance with the specified position of the biological part; and a presentation unit that presents information indicating the imaging area at a position that allows an overlap of the biological part. According to this information presenting system, information about biometric authentication can be appropriately presented to the target person, so that an authentication process can be performed normally.

    Abstract: An information processing system (10) comprises: a distance acquisition unit (110) that specifies an iris area containing an iris of a target from a visible-light image of the target, and acquires an iris distance that is a distance to the iris area; an iris image acquisition unit (120) that acquires an iris image of the target by changing a focal length according to the iris distance; a score computing unit (130) that calculates a score relating to deviation of a focus in the iris image, based on the iris image; and a correlation update unit (140) that updates correlation between the iris distance and the focal length at a moment of acquisition of the iris image, based on the score. According to such an information processing system, since the correlation is updated with good accuracy, it is possible to acquire the appropriate iris image.
