    Abstract: An electrochemical device includes a positive electrode and an electrolytic solution. The positive electrode includes a positive current collector and a positive active material layer disposed on at least one surface of the positive current collector. The positive active material layer includes a positive active material. The positive active material contains an Mg element. Based on a total weight of the positive active material, a weight of the Mg element is X ppm, and 300≤X≤30000. The electrolytic solution contains carboxylate. Based on a total weight of the electrolytic solution, a weight percent of the carboxylate is Y %, and Y≤60. The electrochemical device satisfies 5≤X/Y≤6000. The electrochemical device effectively improve the high-temperature cycle performance and low-temperature discharge performance of the electrochemical device by controlling a relationship between the electrolytic solution and the positive active material.

In formula I-A, n is selected from integers 1 to 10, and m is selected from 0 or 1. In formula I-B and formula I-C, represents a site at which two adjacent atoms are joined. The electrolyte can significantly improve high-temperature storage performance, cycle performance, and floating charge performance of the electrochemical device.
