    Abstract: While a transmission time interval (TTI) length of other than 1 ms is in effect for communication between mobile and network nodes, at least one timer related to discontinuous reception (DRX) is implemented according to a rule that defines a time duration of the timer different from a time duration of the same timer implemented when the TTI length is defined as 1 ms. There are a plurality of such DRX-related timers, and in certain embodiments each is associated with one rule of a set of rules for implementing the respective timer when the TTI length is other than 1 ms; and in particular examples the timers are associated with groups for this purpose and all the timers of at least one of the groups is implemented according to the same rule of the set. Thus new DRX parameters need not be sent anytime the TTI length changes.

    Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to grant skipping for a small data transmission (SDT) procedure. A first device determines whether data is available for transmission on a grant, the grant being allocated for a SDT procedure established between the first device and a second device. In accordance with a determination that the data is unavailable, the first device determines whether the transmission on the grant is to be skipped. In accordance with a determination that the transmission on the grant is not to be skipped, the first device performs the transmission on the grant to the second device, the transmission conveying a predetermined type of information without conveying the data. Through this solution, the SDT procedure between the devices can be maintained as long as possible, to allow the first device to transmit subsequent data to or receive subsequent data from the second device without initiating a new SDT procedure.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a delay status report (DSR). In an aspect, a terminal device determines a criterion for one or more data units. The one or more data units are buffered and not submitted to a lower layer in a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP). Moreover, the terminal device triggers, based on said criterion, a DSR comprising a data volume of the one or more data units and a remaining time associated with the one or more data units. In this way, it is possible to improve the DSR reporting with enhanced efficiency.

    Abstract: A method is provided that includes receiving, at a layer of a radio protocol stack, a first uplink unit of data from a higher layer of the radio protocol stack. The first uplink unit of data is in a set of one or more first uplink units of data, and the set is marked with information including an importance value associated with the set that identifies a relative importance of the set compared to other sets within a quality of service flow. The method includes constructing a second uplink unit of data from the first uplink unit of data. And the method includes making a determination to submit the second uplink unit of data to a lower layer of the radio protocol stack, or buffer the second uplink unit of data, based on the importance value associated with the set, and a threshold importance value.
