Provided are a slide bearing and a manufacturing method of the same, which allow for reduction in the number of component parts and for resultant reduction in costs. The slide bearing (1) is made of synthetic resin and has the upper case (2), the lower case (3) combined with the upper case (2), and the annular center plate (4) placed between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3) so as to allow relative rotation between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3). The center plate (4) is integrally formed with the lower case (3). The joining surface (34) of the lower case (3) to the center plate (4) has the grip part (35), and the joining surface (41) of the center plate (4) has a grasp on the grip part (35).

Provided is a slide bearing capable of sustaining sliding performance over long period.A slide bearing has an upper case (2) configured to be attached to an upper support for attachment of a suspension to a vehicle body, a lower case (3) rotatably combined with the upper case (2) to form an annular space (7); and an annular center plate (4) and an annular sliding sheet (5) both placed within the annular space (7). The center plate (4) includes a bearing surface (40) slidable with the sliding sheet (5) and an annular groove (42) formed on the bearing surface (40) so as to hold lubricant. The annular groove (42) has an inner circumferential surface (43a) inclining down from the opening section toward the groove bottom section as it goes outwardly in the radial direction and an outer circumferential surface (43b) inclining down from the opening section toward the groove bottom section as it goes inwardly in the radial direction. A line P of intersection between the inner circumferential surface (43a) and the outer circumferential surface (43b) is located closer to the bearing surface (40) than to a back face (41) of the center plate (4).

A slide bearing (1) is provided with an upper case (2) attached to an upper support for attaching a strut assembly to a vehicle body, a lower case (3) which is rotatably combined with the upper case (2) and which forms an annular space (7), and an annular center plate (4) and sliding sheet (5) disposed in the annular space (7). The upper case (2) has a load-transmitting surface (27) constituting part of an upper surface of the annular space (7), the center plate (4) is provided with an annular recess (43) filled with a lubricant, and the center plate (4) has a bearing surface (41) for supporting loads exerted on the load-transmitting surface (27). The sliding sheet (5), which is disposed between the load-transmitting surface (27) and the bearing surface (41), has a sliding surface (51) that slides against the bearing surface (41). The sliding sheet (5) is formed of a thermoplastic plastic, and the center plate (4) is formed from a thermoplastic elastomer having a lower modulus of elasticity than the thermoplastic plastic.

Provided is a thrust sliding bearing which, while allowing a shaft member to smoothly rotate, can support for a long period of time a thrust load acting on the shaft member. A thrust sliding bearing comprises: an upper case (2) mounted to an upper support for mounting a strut-type suspension to a vehicle body; a lower case (3) mounted to an upper spring seat for supporting the upper end of the coil spring of the strut-type suspension, the lower case (3) being combined with the upper case (2) to form an annular space (5); and an annular center plate (4) disposed in the annular space (5) and enables the relative rotation between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3). The annular space (5) is filled with lubricating grease. The center plate (4) comprises: a bearing surface (42) in slidable contact with the surface (27) to be supported of the upper case (2); and annular protrusions (47, 48) provided at the inner peripheral edge and the outer peripheral edge of the bearing surface (42) so as to extend in the circumferential direction of the center plate (4).
