Abstract: A lighting device is a device that is for supplying current to an LED unit, is connected to a constant current source having output terminals to which a capacitor is connected, and includes: a transistor connected in parallel with the capacitor and connected in series with the LED unit; a modulation circuit (a microcomputer of a modulator, etc.) that causes the transistor to switch ON and OFF based on a signal for visible light communication; and a constant current control circuit that maintains a current flowing through the transistor at a constant current when the current flowing through the transistor is greater than a first predetermined value.

Abstract: A lighting device includes a rectifier circuit, a drive circuit and a current control circuit. Rectifier circuit rectifies an AC voltage into a pulsating voltage to be output. A load circuit including two or more solid light sources connected in series is connected between output terminals of rectifier circuit. The drive circuit changes a number of solid light sources emitting light, according to a change in a voltage value of the pulsating voltage, so that a period of the pulsating voltage includes: a first time period during which a part of the two or more solid light sources emits light; and a second time period during which all of the two or more solid light sources emit light. The current control circuit controls, in at least the second time period, a value of current flowing through load circuit according to an average voltage of the pulsating voltage.

Abstract: A lighting device includes a step-down circuit configured to convert an input voltage into a DC voltage by no insulation, and a control circuit configured to control the step-down circuit. The step-down circuit has an input end, and the step-down circuit is provided on a side of the input end with an overcurrent protector. The overcurrent protector is configured to be fused by flowing of an overcurrent. The step-down circuit has an output end, a side of which is connected in parallel with a switching circuit. Abstract: A lighting device includes a power conversion unit, an impedance adjustment unit, a first control unit, and a second control unit. The power conversion unit is configured to convert input power to direct-current power used for a light source. The impedance adjustment unit is formed of a series circuit of a resistor element and a switch element and is coupled to the light source in parallel, relative to the power conversion unit. Abstract: A lighting device is provided that includes a lighting controller that controls a light emitter that emits illumination light. The lighting controller includes a first filter that converts a first signal waveform that is defined by a first piecewise linear curve and whose intensity repeatedly increases and decreases into a signal waveform having a smooth rounded curve, and outputs the converted signal waveform as a first output waveform. The lighting controller causes the light emitter to repeatedly increase and decrease the intensity of the illumination light in accordance with the first output waveform.
