摘要: The present invention relates to a terminal (1) for a communication network, the terminal being capable of supporting a plurality of applications (17, 18) and having means of communicating user messages. The terminal comprises means for receiving user messages having data and a header relating to one of the applications (17, 18) and means (8) for addressing the data to a respective application according to the header. In an embodiment the user messages are short messages and the data comprises characters in the short message.

摘要: In data transfer connections with disturbances, e.g. in cellular networks, it is possible to establish and maintain an optimal connection using the solution according to the present invention. The optimal parameters for each data transfer connection are saved in the modem database. When the user next calls a number, the data of which has been saved, the parameters saved in the database are first used for the connection control. Interference occurring during the data transfer is handled with the help of the database with adaptive logic searching for the optimal data transfer rate and other connection parameters.

摘要: A system to adapt the MAC rules of the IrLAP specification to accomodate various IR transceiver devices with media sense utilizes an IrDA protocol stack having a series of layers including: IR Protocol OSI Model Layers Transaction Service 3. Link Management Protocol Network Connection-less LSAP; LMP Connection-less data. 2. Link Access Protocol Data Link Connection-less data; LAP Framing: Rx & Tx; MAC. 1. Connectivity Physical IrDA-SIR, where LSAP is the Link Service Access Point. This kind of protocol stack can be applied to a very large variety of devices, such as, remote controllers with feedback for tuners; can be used for data transactions by request, e.g., pager reporting of received numbers; and is applicable to data acquisition systems, such as, portable GPS reporting of changes of location and medical systems. Various ways for implementing the invention comprise: using the connection-less data service; using XID frames; or using proprietary or open object definitions; with the use of the connection-less data service that is already present in the IrDA specification along with the emerging OBEX object definitions being preferred. Implementation requires no changes in existing systems, and the open service specification ensures connectivity between systems from different vendors.

摘要: A system and method for interfacing Web Services push applications and mobile terminals operable with one of a plurality of different mobile push technologies. A Web Services push gateway includes a Web Services endpoint to terminate Web Services protocols utilized by the Web Services push applications in providing push messages. A plurality of mobile push bearers are each configured to communicate with a different one of the plurality of mobile push technologies. The Web Services push gateway includes a push router coupled to the Web Services endpoint to receive the push messages, and to forward the push messages to an elected one of the mobile push bearers, from where is it ultimately delivered to a recipient mobile terminal employing a mobile push technology corresponding to the elected mobile push bearer.
