Said network node (20) has a priority queue (PQ) (40) for protocol data units (PDUs) (50, 50a-n) in accordance with a persistent retransmission protocol. The method comprises detecting (110) a condition indicative of a congestion and, in response thereto, manipulating (120) the content of a PDU (50, 50a-n) in the PQ (40).     摘要: A technique for operating an RNC of a communication network during a soft handover process of a mobile terminal between a first BS and at least one second BS that are connected to the RNC is provided. A method implementation of the technique comprises receiving, at a MAC protocol layer of the RNC, a first data frame stream from the first BS via a first data path and a second data frame stream from the second BS via a second data path. A relative delay between the data frames of the first and the second data frame stream regarding their arrival at the RNC is determined. At then the MAC protocol layer, data frames of the first and the second data frame stream are then merged into a third data frame stream which is transmitted to a protocol layer above the MAC protocol layer. The merging of the data frames comprises a reordering process of the data frames and wherein, if the relative delay for a data frame exceeds a delay difference reference value, the data frame is transmitted from MAC protocol layer to the protocol layer above the MAC protocol layer without subjecting data frame to the reordering process.

Usually, the adjustment to the new predetermined target error rate will be to a predefined lower target error rate based on states of the priority queue, such as amount of data in the priority queue, time passed since the latest transmission of data from the priority queue, whether the amount of data in the priority queue will fit into one transport block, whether the data unit to be transmitted for the priority queue is the first or last data unit in the priority queue and may also be based on the type of data stored in the priority queue. There may be more than one such priority queue.

    摘要: The technology in this application determines the throughput over a data communication substantially as experienced by a user receiving the data. The determined throughput is substantially independent of the total amount of data transferred over the connection. This “active” throughput measure is divided into two parts to provide two performance measures: transfer throughput and latency. Latency corresponds to a time period needed to accomplish one or more functions associated with the data connection, like setting up and taking down the connection, during which payload type data to be transferred to an end user is not transferred. By identifying and removing the initial latency from the throughput determination for the data connection, the determined transfer throughput provides a more accurate measure of the throughput actually experienced by the end user.
