摘要: The invention deals with the adjustment of the nominal target error rate for transmission of data from a priority queue to a new predetermined target error rate depending on the state of the priority queue. Usually, the adjustment to the new predetermined target error rate will be to a predefined lower target error rate based on states of the priority queue, such as amount of data in the priority queue, time passed since the latest transmission of data from the priority queue, whether the amount of data in the priority queue will fit into one transport block, whether the data unit to be transmitted for the priority queue is the first or last data unit in the priority queue and may also be based on the type of data stored in the priority queue. There may be more than one such priority queue.

摘要: A method for congestion control in a network node (20) of a communication network utilizing a distributed queue system for transmission of data units is disclosed. Said network node (20) has a priority queue (PQ) (40) for protocol data units (PDUs) (50, 50a-n) in accordance with a persistent retransmission protocol. The method comprises detecting (110) a condition indicative of a congestion and, in response thereto, manipulating (120) the content of a PDU (50, 50a-n) in the PQ (40). A related network node (20), computer program product, and computer readable medium are also disclosed.

摘要: It is presented a queue manager arranged to manage a queue associated with a single radio access bearer of a mobile communication system. The queue manager comprises: a queue detector arranged to provide a change rate parameter indicating a rate of change of a size of the queue; a discard determiner arranged to determine a first discard condition based on the change rate parameter; and a packet discarder arranged to discard a packet in the queue when the first discard condition is satisfied. Corresponding method, radio base station, radio network controller and user equipment are also presented.

摘要: Communication efficiency may be enhanced by using compressed headers. In an example embodiment, a method is performed by a transmitting device to reduce header size. A mapping is created between a logical channel identifier and a compressed logical channel identifier. The compressed logical channel identifier occupies fewer bits than the logical channel identifier. The mapping is transmitted to a receiving device. A compressed header that includes the compressed logical channel identifier is formulated. A communication that includes the compressed header is transmitted to the receiving device. In another example embodiment, a method is performed by a receiving device to decode a header having a reduced size. A mapping and a communication including a compressed header are received. A compressed logical channel identifier is extracted from the compressed header. A logical channel identifier is recovered from the compressed logical channel identifier using the mapping.

摘要: Data transmission with a wireless communication device which communicates over an air interface with a radio network is controlled by setting a radio link control (RLC) window size for a first logical connection established with the wireless communication device over the air interface, the RLC window size indicating a number of RLC protocol data units (PDUs), periodically estimating a total amount of memory available at the wireless communication device for storing RLC PDUs, and controlling transmission of RLC PDUs associated with the first logical connection to the wireless communication device based on the estimated total amount of memory available at the wireless communication device for storing RLC PDUs, or based on the RLC window size set for the first logical connection if the RLC window size limits the transmission of the RLC PDUs more than the estimated total amount of memory available at the wireless communication device.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and an arrangement in a first communication node (115) for adjusting a channel quality report transmitted between the first communication node (115) and a second communication node (105). The first communication node (115) and the second communication node (105) are comprised in a wireless communication network (100), and are adapted to communicate with each other via a radio link (110). In a first step, a channel quality report is received (600) from the second communication node (105). The channel quality report is established by the second communication node (105). Then at least one channel characteristic parameter is obtained (601). The next step is to determine a channel quality offset based on the obtained channel characteristic parameter. Based on the channel quality offset, the channel quality report is adjusted (605).

摘要: Embodiments herein dynamically adapt the size of downlink Radio Link Control (RLC) protocol data units (PDUs) sent by a radio network controller (RNC) to a user equipment (UE) via a base station. Notably, the RNC effectively matches downlink RLC PDU size to the radio conditions at the UE using one or more indirect indicators of those radio conditions. Example indirect indicators include active set size, common pilot channel power, and the number of positive RLC PDU acknowledgments received, to name a few. The embodiments therefore prove particularly advantageous to wireless communication systems based on existing standards that already provide the RNC with such indirect indicators, since no new or additional control signaling need be introduced. Method embodiments herein thus include determining one or more indirect indicators of radio conditions at the UE, and dynamically adapting the size of downlink RLC PDUs in dependence on those one or more indirect indicators.
