Abstract: A method for predicting channel load. The method includes determining a first channel quality information (CQI) associated with a location and a first time point, predicting traffic flow data associated with the location and a second time point subsequent to the first time point, predicting a second CQI associated with the location and the second time point based on the first CQI and the predicted traffic flow, and selectively transmitting a message comprising the second CQI, the location, and the second time point to at least one transportation vehicle based on the second CQI. Also disclosed is a transportation vehicle and a road side unit (RSU) for performing the method.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A first user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a first uplink message including one or both of a protocol layer source identifier associated with a second UE or a request for a local identifier associated with the second UE. The first UE may receive, from the base station, a first downlink message including a downlink signal radio bearer (DL SRB) message, and the DL SRB message including one or both of the protocol layer source identifier associated with the second UE or the local identifier associated with the second UE in a downlink adaptation layer header of the DL SRB message. The first UE may transmit, to the second UE, in a sidelink adaptation layer header of a sidelink message, the local identifier associated with the second UE based in part on the received first downlink message.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for connecting one or more vehicles to a software defined wide area network (SD-WAN). The method deploys an edge router to operate in the vehicle, and configures the edge router to connect to several wireless network links (e.g., 5G cellular links) operating in the vehicle. In some embodiments, the different wireless network links are different mobile hotspot links provided by different telecommunication network providers (e.g., AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Orange, etc.). The method configures the edge router to forward several data message flows from a device operating in the vehicle (e.g., a computer located in the vehicle or a machine (e.g., virtual machine, Pod, container, etc.) executing on a computer located in the vehicle) to the SD-WAN using the several telecommunications network links.
