Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station and in a first slot, an indication of a signal to noise ratio (SNR) mode, of a plurality of SNR modes, to be used by the UE for one or more downlink communications in one or more slots that occur after the first slot, wherein different SNR modes of the plurality of SNR modes support at least one of different modulation and coding schemes, different ranks, or a combination thereof; and operate using the SNR mode in the one or more slots based at least in part on the indication. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may receive, using a first receive port, a first signal within a first frequency band, where the first receive port may be associated with a first receive beam. The wireless device may also receive, using a second receive port, a second signal within the first frequency band concurrently with receiving the first signal, where the second receive port may be associated with a second receive beam. After receiving the first and second signals, the wireless device may process both signals. Processing the signals may include decoding both of the signals, measuring both of the signals, and/or decoding one of the signals and measuring the other of the signals. To support concurrent reception over multiple receive beams within a single frequency band, the wireless device may employ an idle antenna panel and corresponding receive ports.

Abstract: A method for communication beam transition in a communication system includes sending beam information on a first communication beam, receiving a beam switch command on the first communication beam, the beam switch command requesting a transition from the first communication beam to a second communication beam, simultaneously sending and receiving information on the first communication beam and the second communication beam, and ceasing sending and receiving information on the first communication beam when transition to the second communication beam is completed.
