Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a signaling communication that includes information specifying whether a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) precoding resource block group includes a same quantity of resource blocks (RBs) that is included in a CSI reporting subband configured for the UE. The CSI-RS precoding resource block group may enable the UE to perform a channel estimation based at least in part on a CSI-RS transmitted by a base station. The UE may perform the channel estimation based at least in part on the CSI-RS transmitted by the base station. The channel estimation may be based at least in part on whether the CSI-RS precoding resource block group includes the same quantity of RBs that is included in the CSI reporting subband configured for the UE. Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of a monitoring window used by the base station to monitor for uplink transmissions from the UE. The UE may receive a control signal scheduling uplink resources for an uplink transmission by the UE on at least a first component carrier, the first component carrier in a first radio frequency spectrum band. The UE may reconfigure, in response to the received control signal, a first transmit chain of the UE from a second component carrier in a second radio frequency spectrum band to the first component carrier in the first radio frequency spectrum band for the uplink transmission. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the indicated monitoring window and using at least the reconfigured first transmit chain, the uplink transmission on the first component carrier using the scheduled uplink resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device, otherwise known as a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of an uplink transmission timing pattern configuration for transmitting uplink transmissions on a first carrier. The UE may identify to use both the first carrier and a second carrier during a single uplink transmission mode, where the UE may transition between sending the uplink transmissions on the first and second carriers. The UE may also determine, based on the uplink transmission timing pattern configuration, a timing of uplink carrier switching periods for retuning between transmissions on the first carrier and on the second carrier. As a result, the UE may transmit, during the single uplink transmission mode, on both the first carrier and the second carrier in accordance with the uplink transmission timing pattern configuration for the first carrier and the uplink carrier switching periods.

Abstract: Enhanced hybrid channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) for full dimension multiple input, multiple output (FD-MIMO) is discussed in which a base station configures a first CSI-RS resource for non-precoded CSI-RS and a second CSI-RS resource for beamformed CSI-RS. The first and second CSI-RS resources are associated with the same CSI process in a hybrid CSI-RS operation. The UE provides a first CSI report including a first rank and precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on measurement of the non-precoded CSI-RS. The base station may use this first CSI process. CSI report for the beamforming of the beamformed CSI-RS. The UE further provides a second CSI report including a second rank, second PMI, and CQI based on measurement of the beamformed CSI-RS. Additional aspects may provide for a base station to aggregate multiple two-port CSI-RS resource configurations into a single multiport CSI-RS resource configuration that may be dynamically shared between different UEs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may receive a capability message from a user equipment (UE) based on a number of receive antennas exceeding a number of transmit antennas at the UE. The base station may configure the UE with a mapping between sounding reference signal (SRS) resources and bit sequences, or SRS resource indices (SRIs), based on the capability message. The base station may transmit a control message including one or more SRIs indicating respective SRS resources. The UE may use the one or more SRIs included in a control message from the base station to select respective SRS resources from a resource set. Once the UE selects one or more SRS resources, the UE may transmit one or more SRSs in the SRS resources.
