    Abstract: A totally aerated combustion burner has a combustion plate part through which an air-fuel mixture is ejected. The combustion plate part includes: an air-fuel mixture permeable body made from metallic fibers to allow the air-fuel mixture to pass therethrough; and a distribution plate having formed therein a multiplicity of distribution holes and being stacked on a back surface of the air-fuel mixture permeable body. An air-fuel mixture permeable body is constructed by laminating a plurality of metallic-fiber woven bodies which are woven by metallic-fiber threads obtained by bundling a plurality of metallic fibers relatively large in diameter. These metallic-fiber woven bodies are laminated such that a part of meshes in one metallic-fiber woven body overlaps a portion other than meshes in another metallic-fiber woven body, said one metallic-fiber woven body and said another metallic-fiber woven body that lies adjacent to each other in the laminating direction.

    Abstract: A burner has: a combustion plate part for ejecting air-fuel mixture; and a flame rod which lies opposite to a portion of the combustion plate part which has a picture-frame-like burner frame; a metal-fiber knit which covers an opening enclosed by the burner frame; and a distribution plate which has formed therein distribution holes and which sandwiches the metal-fiber knit between the burner frame and the distribution plate through the distribution holes and the metal-fiber knit. The flame rod has: a rod base part which lies opposite to a portion of opening peripheral part of the burner frame which is positioned on the same surface level as the opening; and a rod main body part which lies opposite to a portion of the metal-fiber knit. The distance between the rod base part and the opening peripheral part is made smaller than the distance between the rod main body part and the metal-fiber knit.

    Abstract: A premixing apparatus for mixing air with a fuel gas in order to supply a burner with an air-fuel mixture through a fan, wherein a downstream end of a gas supply passage is connected to a gas suction part disposed in a portion, on an upstream side of the fan, of an air supply passage. The gas supply passage has interposed therein a zero governor for adjusting a secondary gas pressure to an atmospheric pressure. Even if the calorific value of the fuel gas may fluctuate, excess air ratio of the air-fuel mixture is arranged to be maintained at a constant value. The premixing apparatus is provided with: an excess air ratio detection device for detecting an excess air ratio of the air-fuel mixture; and a flow control valve interposed in a portion, on a downstream side of the zero governor, of the gas supply passage. The flow control valve is controlled such that the excess air ratio of the air-fuel mixture detected by the excess air ratio detection device becomes constant.

    Abstract: An exhaust duct has a riser duct section which is connected to an exhaust port having such an inlet port at a lower portion of the riser duct section as is connected to an exhaust port for the combustion gas, the exhaust port being opened at a lower portion of the combustion box. The riser duct section extends upward along an external surface of the combustion box. Suppose that a direction normal to the external surface of the combustion box is defined as a front-to-back direction, and a horizontal direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction is defined as a lateral direction, then the riser duct section is formed into a flat shape having a smaller dimension in the front-to-back direction than the dimension in the lateral direction. Fluctuations in width between front-side and back-side plate parts of the riser duct section are devised to be restrained, and increase in size can be avoided. The riser duct section has a rail inside the riser duct section, the rail being elongated in the vertical direction and connecting together the front-side and the back-side plate parts.

    Abstract: A combustion plate is for use in a totally aerated combustion burner in which a plate main body made of ceramic has formed therein a multiplicity of flame holes for ejecting a premixed gas. The plate main body is provided, in a lattice shape, with non-flame-hole sections free of flame holes. Each of those sections of the plate main body which are enclosed by the non-flame-hole sections constitutes a collective flame-hole section having formed therein in a crowded manner a plurality of flame holes. Flame holes formed in those peripheral portions of the collective flame-hole sections which are adjacent to the non-flame-hole sections are smaller in diameter than the diameter of the flame holes formed in those portions of the collective flame-hole sections which are inner than the peripheral portions.
