Abstract: An industrial automation system may include a first computing device that may receive operational technology (OT) data from industrial automation devices of an industrial automation system, determine identities of the industrial automation devices based on the OT data, determine that the OT data includes data attributes having variations as compared to additional OT data, transmit the identifiers and the data attributes to a second computing device in response to determining that the data attributions have the variations, receive containers including updated digital representations of the industrial automation devices from the second computing device, execute the containers to output additional data attributes, and send commands to the industrial automation devices to modify processes based the additional data attributes.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and software for preserving timestamp data in an industrial automation environment. In one implementation, one or more computer-readable storage media having program instructions stored thereon to preserve timestamp data in an industrial automation environment, wherein the program instructions, when executed by a computing system, direct the computing system to at least receive, at a controller, event data of an event from an electronic device, wherein the event data comprises a status of the event and the timestamp of the event. The program instructions also direct the computing system to determine an identification value based on the event data and load the status of the event, the timestamp of the event, and the identification value to a queue within the controller. The timestamp of the event includes the timestamp transmitted from the electronic device.

Abstract: Techniques to facilitate predictive maintenance for industrial assets in an industrial automation environment are disclosed herein. In at least one implementation, a computing system receives a plurality of industrial automation process variables associated with at least one industrial asset employed in an industrial automation process. The industrial automation process variables are fed into a machine learning model associated with the at least one industrial asset to generate a future maintenance event prediction for the at least one industrial asset. The future maintenance event prediction for the at least one industrial asset is provided to an industrial controller that controls the at least one industrial asset.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and software for calculating energy effectiveness in an industrial automation system. In one implementation, a computing system is directed to at least acquire production energy information indicating the amount of energy used by a machine during a processing period to process one or more parts and acquire process energy information indicating the sum of energy used by the machine during the processing period to process the one or more parts and to not process any parts. The computing system also acquires a total number of parts expected to be processed during the processing period and a total number of good parts processed during the processing period. An overall equipment energy effectiveness is calculated based on a ratio of the production energy information to the process energy information and based on a ratio of the total number of good parts to the total number of parts.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, via a secure deployment management (SDM) system, data associated with one or more operations of an industrial device from a secure deployment management (SDM) node associated with the industrial device. The data is received via a secure communication channel established by the SDM system with the SDM node and security protocols. The method also includes sending the data to a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) container component may perform tasks in conjunction with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) process, such that the CMMS container component may communicate with the CMMS process via a first firewall through which the SDM system is incapable of communicating. The SDM system may enable the data associated with the operations to communicate with the SDM node through a second firewall between the SDM system and the SDM node, the second firewall being different from the first firewall.

Abstract: An industrial automation device includes processing circuitry and a non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions that, when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to execute a software container and receive, at the software container, a first set of data having raw data from one or more industrial automation devices communicatively coupled to the industrial automation device. When executed, the instructions also cause the processing circuitry to pre-process the first set of data using the software container to generate a second set of data and send the second set of data to a second industrial automation device communicatively coupled to the first industrial automation device.

Abstract: Embodiments of this present disclosure may include systems that perform operations including receiving a request to access data of an industrial automation device from a requesting device and identifying the industrial automation device based on the request. The operations may include sending a query for template data to the industrial automation device based on the request and symbolic data operations. The template data may include one or more instantaneous values associated with the industrial automation device. The operations may include sending the template data to the requesting device.

Abstract: Embodiments of this present disclosure may include systems that perform operations including receiving a first symbol instance from an industrial automation device. The first template object instance may characterize a dataset accessible to the industrial automation device. Symbol object instances may inherit a categorization with respect to categories associated with the industrial automation device including an identity, a state, a runtime status, a maintenance status, sustainability information, or any combination thereof. The operations may include receiving a first input corresponding to the first symbol object instance. The first input may include an indication of a change to the original symbolic definition. The operations may include identifying a type of the industrial automation device based on the first symbol object instance and generating enhanced template data based on the type of the industrial automation device, the first input, and the first symbol object instance.
