    Abstract: Provided herein are methods, systems, and software for automatic generation of reports associated with an industrial automation environment. In one implementation, a method includes accessing a source of data containing information related to operation of an industrial automation system. An industrial controller controls the operation. The method also includes identifying user defined types (UDTs) containing a data property in the source of data; creating asset model tags that point to the UDTs in the industrial controller; creating asset definitions by grouping all asset model tags of a particular UDT; instantiating a separate model for each asset in the industrial automation system based on the corresponding asset definition; and generating a report to display values of the asset model tags of the instantiated models.

    Abstract: A motor control center (MCC) for an industrial automation system, includes an enclosure housing comprising a plurality of sections, including a first section having one or more buckets, including a first bucket, a first bus bar, a second bus bar, and a third bus bar extending horizontally across the first section along a back plane of the enclosure housing, and a first electrical component, configured to perform one or more functions of the MCC, disposed within the first bucket of the first section. The first electrical component is directly electrically coupled to the first set of bus bars such that the first electrical component draws a first phase of power from the first bus bar, a second phase of power from the second bus bar, and a third phase of power from the third bus bar.

    Abstract: Provided herein are systems, methods, and software for calculating energy effectiveness in an industrial automation system. In one implementation, a computing system is directed to at least acquire production energy information indicating the amount of energy used by a machine during a processing period to process one or more parts and acquire process energy information indicating the sum of energy used by the machine during the processing period to process the one or more parts and to not process any parts. The computing system also acquires a total number of parts expected to be processed during the processing period and a total number of good parts processed during the processing period. An overall equipment energy effectiveness is calculated based on a ratio of the production energy information to the process energy information and based on a ratio of the total number of good parts to the total number of parts.

    Abstract: Motor control center components are tagged and monitored to produce accurate information on the location and identification of the components in closed and sealed motor control center bays, sections, and enclosures. Wireless polling signals may allow for locating the tagged components, and the tags may store or access component-identifying data and, where desired, condition data for the component or its environment in the motor control center. The data may be collected wirelessly and made available to local or remote monitoring equipment, controllers, workstations, human machine interfaces, and so forth.
