Abstract: A barbeque grill with paper start facility comprising an open top receptacle defining a floor that includes one or more draft openings of adjustable size, a tinder receiver, that receives the tinder forming paper, in association with the receptacle at its central axis and in alignment with the draft openings, a charcoal support grid and means for removably mounting same in the receptacle over the receptacle floor and above and adjacent the upper end of the tinder receiver, a charcoal receiver in the form of an open ended sleeve of impervious sheet metal material that includes a pair of oppositely located handles adjacent its upper end, which charcoal receiver is proportioned to be disposed in substantially congruent relation with the tinder receiver and on the charcoal support grid above the tinder receiver, and a food cooking grid and means for removably mounting same in the receptacle above the charcoal grid after the charcoal is ignited by igniting the tinder. In a preferred embodiment the tinder receiver is in the form of a bowl that is discrete with respect to the receptacle and is removably supported thereby for removal and dumping therefrom of ash formed by igniting a tinder charge placed therein.

Abstract: A treadmill exercising apparatus comprising a generally planar frame equipped with a planar slider bed and head and tail rollers journalled respectively at the head and tail ends of the frame, which rollers are formed from steel and are provided with elastomeric material crowns, over which rollers an endless nylon belt is trained, with the slider bed having a dry canvas top surfacing across which the upper run of the belt rides, and with the frame at its head end being equipped with a cross member in which are threadedly mounted in spaced apart relation a pair of threaded screw members that adjustably support the head end of the frame, with each of said screw members being journalled in its own foot for rotational movement with respect thereto, and with the threaded screw members being coupled together adjacent their upper ends for simultaneous manual operation in the same direction in forward and reverse directions. Abstract: A torch cutting machine having a hydraulic motor drive and a hydraulic system for actuating the drive, which system includes a hydraulic liquid flow orienting valve for controlling the direction of movement of the drive, in which the control arrangement for each hydraulic motor involved comprises a stepping or pulse motor assembly mounted on the machine frame for free floating shifting movement longitudinally of the machine trackway, a rack made fast to and extending the length of the trackway, with the stepping motor assembly including a stepping motor and mounting a gear that is driven in forward and reverse directions by the stepping motor and is in rolling meshing torque transmitting relation with the rack. The hydraulic liquid flow orienting valve is in the form of a servo valve secured to the machine frame and having its operating spool connected to the stepping motor assembly for movement thereby. When the stepping motor is driven it effects actuation of the machine hydraulic motor drive it controls by appropriately positioning the servo valve without the stepping motor involved being a direct part of the machine driving mechanism. The disclosure also illustrates the drive control involved as applied to machine tool operation.
