    摘要: In the preferred embodiment of the well tool disclosed herein, a main body adapted to be suspended in a borehole includes a pivoted tool-decentralizing arm which is movable between a retracted position along the rear of the body and an extended position where the free end of the arm is biased into sliding engagement with a wall of a borehole for urging the forward face of the body into sliding engagement with the opposite borehole wall. A second body is pivotally coupled on the mid-point of the decentralizing arm for maintaining the second body in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the borehole as the free end of the decentralizing arm moves along the borehole wall. Caliper arms are pivotally mounted on each side of the second body for moving in unison between retracted positions and extended positions where the outward ends of the caliper arms are respectively engaged on opposite sides of the borehole. Measuring devices are operatively coupled to the decentralizing arm and the caliper arms for measuring the diameters of the borehole along the respective movement planes of the arms.

    摘要: A hydrostatic transmission system for driving a rotatable member includes a differential having an output coupled with the rotatable member, a first hydrostatic drive having an output coupled to a first input of the differential, and a second hydrostatic drive having an output coupled to a second input of the differential. The output of the first hydrostatic drive is rotatable in a first selected direction and at a first selected speed. The output of the second hydrostatic drive is rotatable in a second selected direction and at a second selected speed. A rotational speed and direction of the output of the differential is related to the algebraic sum of the rotational speeds and directions of the outputs of the hydrostatic drives. In one embodiment, the speeds of the first and second drives are maintained above a minimum stable threshold, while operating the rotatable drive at very low or zero speed, by selecting the first direction to be opposite the second direction.

    摘要: A system and method for conveying wireline tools between a wellsite and a logging truck and for assembling the tools at the wellsite is disclosed. The conveying system includes a taut line extending between a wellsite and the logging truck, a mechanism for anchoring the taut line at the wellsite, and a mechanism for tensioning the taut line. A trolley on the taut line is attachable to a logging tool and operable to convey the tool between the truck and the wellsite. Preferably, the logging tools are stored in a tool bed adjacent the rear axle of the logging truck so that they can be easily displaced and connected to the trolley for conveyance along the taut line to the wellsite. At the wellsite, the operators use a remote winch control for controlling the rotation of the logging cable winch and the position of any tools at the wellsite connected to the logging cable. A spanner is provided which permits the operator to connect two tools together (or disassemble) using one hand. As can be appreciated, the system and method of the present invention permits two people to efficiently convey, assemble, and log an oil well.
