摘要: A medical lancing device including a replaceable multi-lancet cartridge. The lancing device includes a drive mechanism, an activation mechanism, and an advancing mechanism. The advancing mechanism includes a linear-pull slide that is moved in and out to operate an indexing ratchet mechanism, a cam-guided charger mechanism, and a cam-guided lancet cap displacement mechanism. The indexing ratchet mechanism sequentially advances the lancets in the cartridge to an active position. The cam-guided charger mechanism charges the drive mechanism and separates the cap from the active lancet. And the cam-guided cap displacement mechanism moves the separated cap from the lancing stroke path of the active lancet. The activation mechanism then releases the charged active lancet to traverse the unobstructed lancing stroke path to pierce the subject's skin at a desired lancing site.

摘要: A medical lancing device including a replaceable multi-lancet cartridge. The lancing device includes a drive mechanism, an activation mechanism, and an advancing mechanism. 摘要: A lancing device including a drive mechanism with a drive spring and a lancet carrier engaged and driven by the drive spring, and further including a lancet with a sharp lancing tip, wherein the lancet floats relative to the carrier and is decoupled from the drive mechanism during at least a portion of a lancing stroke. In one example embodiment the lancet is held in a sled that floats in the carrier, and in another example embodiment the lancet by itself floats in the carrier.

摘要: In combination, a blood glucose testing meter comprising a slot for receiving a test strip, a display, one or more control devices, and a battery compartment and a lancing device for releasable coupling to the blood glucose test meter over the battery compartment. The lancing device releasably couples directly to the testing meter over the battery compartment. Optionally, the lancing device is mounted to a mounting clip releasably coupled to the testing meter over the battery compartment. The lancing device comprises a housing, a lancet opening disposed at one end of the housing, an energizing member for charging the lancing device, and a release button for activating a lancet within the lancing device.

摘要: A housing and an internal mechanism including a blade, a dual-link drive mechanism, and a trigger. The blade is driven by the drive mechanism through a rotating and translating slicing motion that defines a sampling sequence, from a first retracted position to an extended position to a second retracted position. The dual-link drive mechanism includes a blade link arm coupled to the blade, a rotary drive link arm that drives the blade arm, a drive spring that drives the a rotary drive arm, and a cam-and-follower mechanism that guides the blade arm as it is driven by the rotary drive arm. The trigger is operable to release the dual-link drive mechanism to propel the blade through the sampling sequence. And a sterility cap protects the blade and prevents operation of the device prior to removal.

摘要: A method of obtaining a test sample from a specimen using a lancet system includes engaging a lancet driver against a drive wing of a lancet system, the lancet system having a major portion of a lancet member slidably engaged within a lancet carrier and a sensor strip with a sample chamber attached to the lancet carrier, the lancet system having a lance connected to a first end of a lancet body of the lancet member wherein the lance is movable from a retracted position within the lancet carrier to an extended position outside the lancet carrier, the drive wing extending outwardly and transversely from the lancet body, the major portion of the lancet member having a sinuous portion with a distal end restricted from movement by the lancet carrier, the sinuous portion being non-compressible when initially disposed within the lancet carrier wherein the drive wing prevents the sinuous portion from being compressed, moving the drive wing with the lancet driver a predetermined distance causing the lancet tip to move from the retracted position to the extended position, and disengaging the lancet driver from the drive wing, the lance being automatically moved from the extended position to the retracted position.

摘要: A blood glucose measuring system includes a lancet assembly and a meter for use with the lancet assembly. The lancet assembly has a lancet member with a lance, a lancet body having a drive wing extending outwardly from a side, and a sinuous portion, and an elongated carrier having a lancet member recess to contain the lancet member. The elongated carrier has an open end, a closed end, a side elongated opening for receiving the drive wing therethrough, and an anchoring member operatively connected to the end of the sinuous portion. The meter includes a measuring circuit, a lancet trigger, and a lancet driver where the lancet driver includes a driver piston engageable with the lancet trigger and a charging member that operatively engages with the driver piston to move the driver piston into an armed position and to stop the driver piston when released from the armed position.
