    摘要: An intrusion detection device and method in an IP connected security system is disclosed. An intrusion detection device is coupled to primary and secondary communication devices of a security system so that when a Internet attack is detected, communication between the security system and a central monitoring station occurs over the secondary communication device rather than the primary communication device. The invention preserves communication between the security system and the central monitoring station even when a denial of service type attack is occurring so that physical premise security is uncompromised.

The invention enables the status of a residential or business security system to be monitored and updated from a vehicle, such as before a homeowner enters the residence protected by the security system, and also allows the security system to monitor the status of and control functions of the vehicle.

    摘要: A security system, such as in a home or other building, includes a broadcast band RF transmitter for transmitting an audio message that can be received by a user on a common home or car radio, for example. The audio message may be provided in response to a command that is transmitted to the security system by a user from a wireless key fob or the like. The user command may instruct the security system to arm or disarm itself, for instance. The audio message, which can be received on a selected channel on a car's radio receiver, informs the user that the command has been executed. The audio message may include a voice message such as “system armed” or“system disarmed”, a musical passage, a beep, chirp, or the like.

    摘要: A synchronizing method and system between a Radio Frequency (RF) transmitter and a battery powered receiver wherein the transmitter transmits short duration first periodic sync signals which are used by the receiver to maintain proper synchronization of the receiver with the transmitter during second periodic wake-up windows for transmission of data. The receiver wakes for a short duration at the start of each periodic wake up window to receive a possible transmission of data, and if no transmission is received goes back to sleep, and if a transmission is received stays awake to receive the full transmission of data. The basic principle is that the average current consumed by the battery powered receiver in order to wake periodically to receive the first periodic sync signals and the second periodic data transmissions is less than the average current required to maintain the receiver awake continuously. The duration (e.g. 14 ms) and periodicity of (e.g. every 32 s) of the periodic signals are selected to meet a FCC regulation of 2 second/hour allowed for synchronization.
