The liquid optical element array includes: a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other; barrier ribs arranged upright on a surface facing the second substrate of the first substrate and sectioning a region on the first substrate into a plurality of cell regions; a first electrode and a second electrode arranged on wall surfaces of the barrier ribs to face each other; a third electrode arranged on a surface facing the first substrate of the second substrate; a projection arranged upright in each of the cell regions on the first substrate or the second substrate; and a polar liquid and a nonpolar liquid sealed between the first substrate and the third electrode and having different refractive indices.

    摘要: A fuel cell is provided. The fuel cell includes a power generator incorporated in a housing having air intake ports, an electrical terminal connected to a printed-wiring board, and connectors and a fuel passage for supplying fuel. The terminals are formed in such configurations as to be insertion-mounted on the printed-wiring board or to be surface mounted on the printed-wiring board. The fuel cell is directly mounted on the printed-wiring board. Thus, a cell housing part or a fixing mechanism, a connector, for example, do not need to be provided on an electric device on which the fuel cell is mounted and the structure of the device itself is simplified and miniaturized.

    摘要: A lens array is provided. A manufacturing process is facilitated and micro fabrication can be performed. In addition, variation in an optical axis that depends on the processing accuracy and decentering of a droplet in the voltage-driven state is suppressed. In a lens array, a plurality of pyramidal recesses that receive droplets are two-dimensionally formed in a sealed cell in which first liquid that is conductive and second liquid (droplet) that is insulative are contained without being mixed with each other. Since the recesses are formed in a pyramidal shape, the centering performance of the droplets placed in the recesses can be improved and variation in optical axes of lens elements formed of interfaces of the droplets can be suppressed. In addition, the optical axes can be stably positioned and decentering of the droplets in the voltage-driven state can be suppressed. Furthermore, micro fabrication can be facilitated compared to the case in which the recesses are conical, and the recesses can be densely arranged.

    摘要: A lens array capable of making the characteristics of lens elements uniform is provided. A lens array 10 according to the present invention includes first liquid 11 that is conductive, second liquid 12 that is insulative and that has a refractive index different from that of the first liquid, and a plurality of lens elements 13 forming lens surfaces 13A at an interface between the first liquid 11 and the second liquid 12. The lens surfaces 13A of the lens elements 13 reversibly vary in accordance with output control of an applied voltage. The lens array is structured such that the adjacent lens elements 13 liquidly communicate with each other, whereby differences in the amounts of the first liquid 11 and the second liquid 12 between the lens elements can be avoided and the lens characteristics can be made uniform.

The cross-sectional shape of a light reflecting portion when cutting away the reflecting mirror at a virtual plane perpendicular to the Z axis is a part of a parabola. The axis line of the emission unit is positioned between the vertex-of the parabola and a focal point. Thus, there is provided a lighting system in which an optical device, which is made up of a liquid lens employing an electrowetting phenomenon, having an arrangement and configuration whereby high optical power can be obtained.

A fuel cell separator capable of making a fuel cell device compact and reducing variations in air supply amount to generating cells. Oscillating fans as fluid oxidant supplying means are respectively provided at openings of channels. The oscillating fans are individually driven to respectively supply air into the channels. The oscillating fans are included in a separator body of a separator. As compared with the case that the oscillating fans are provided separately from a fuel cell body having the separator as a component, the limitation to layout of the fuel cell body and various units for effecting stable electric power generation in the fuel cell body can be reduced, and the fuel cell device can be reduced in size.

A first insulating layer composed of an inorganic material, an adhesion layer composed of an organic material, and a second insulating layer composed of an organic material are stacked in that order on the inner surface of the first substrate and the inner surface of the frame member.
