Abstract: A communications device for use in a wireless communications system comprising an infrastructure equipment and the communications device is provided. The communications device is configured to transmit an uplink channel to the infrastructure equipment in a plurality of allocated subcarriers. The communications device comprises circuitry for one or more modulation symbol repetition blocks, each configured to receive modulated symbols mapped to one of a plurality of modulated symbol sets and to repeat each of the received modulated symbols within each of the plurality of modulated symbol sets, and circuitry for a precoder block configured to carry out a precoder function on the repeated modulation symbols, the precoder function comprising multiplying each of the repeated modulation symbols by an element of a precoder vector to produce precoded symbols.

Abstract: A method is performed by a wireless communications device of transmitting measurement reports to an infrastructure equipment. The method comprises receiving signals transmitted by the infrastructure equipment, measuring a characteristic associated with the received signals, and selecting an index value from one of a plurality of index values. Each of the index values represents a range of values of the characteristic for which communications parameters of a transmitter in the infrastructure equipment and a receiver in the communication device should have to achieve an acceptable communications performance for values of the characteristic within the range of values of the characteristic. The method further comprises, subject to the selected index value, transmitting the selected index value to the infrastructure equipment.

Abstract: A method of operating an infrastructure node in a wireless communications system is provided. The method comprises detecting that downlink messages for a communications device to decode should be transmitted by the node in one or more of a plurality of temporally spaced paging occasions, and determining that a wake-up signal (WUS) should be transmitted by the node to the communications device in advance of each of the one or more paging occasions which comprise the downlink messages for the communications device to decode, determining that a time since a most recent transmission of a signal which can be used by the communications device to re-synchronise with the node is greater than a predetermined threshold and transmitting, in response to determining that the time since the most recent transmission from the infrastructure equipment to the communications device is greater than the predetermined threshold, a preamble signal to the communications device.

Abstract: Positioning reference signals are transmitted in a downlink direction from base stations (200) of a wireless communication network to a wireless communication device (100) or in an uplink direction from the wireless communication device (100) to base stations (200) of the wireless communication network. According to a frequency hop pattern, a radio interface of the wireless communication device is switched between multiple different frequency ranges. In this way, the wireless communication device (100) can receive the downlink positioning reference signals on multiple different frequencies defined by the frequency hop pattern or send the uplink positioning reference signals on multiple different frequencies defined by the frequency hop pattern.

Abstract: A method of operating a network access node in a wireless telecommunications system comprising the network access node and a terminal device, wherein the method comprises: establishing that a downlink message, e.g. a paging message, for the terminal device to decode is going to be transmitted by the network access node; and transmitting wake-up signalling to the terminal device in advance of transmitting the downlink message to provide the terminal device with an indication the downlink message for the terminal device is going to be transmitted, wherein the wake-up signalling comprises an indication of an amount of synchronisation signalling for use by the terminal device to achieve radio synchronisation with the network access node, wherein the amount of synchronisation signalling depends on an amount of time elapsed since the terminal device was previously radio synchronised to the network access node.

Abstract: An infrastructure equipment of a wireless communications network is configured when data is to be transmitted to a communications device, to transmit a control message providing an indication that the infrastructure equipment intends to transmit a paging message to the communications device, and providing an indication of communications resources of a shared channel on which the paging message is to be transmitted. The paging message includes an indication that the communications device should establish a connection with the infrastructure equipment to receive the data from the infrastructure equipment. The communications device is one of a group of communications devices, configured to receive the control message, sub-divided into sub-groups of communications devices. The control message can include an indication of one of the sub-groups which should receive the paging message to be transmitted in the communications resources of the shared channel identified by the control message.

Abstract: A half-duplex radio device (100) generates a repetitive transmission of an uplink message to a base station (150) of the cellular network. The radio device (100) splits the repetitive transmission of the uplink message into a sequence of multiple transmit periods and configures at least one measurement gap between the transmit periods. In the transmit periods, the radio device (100) sends the repetitive transmission to the base station. Based on the received at least one downlink signal, the radio device (100) estimates a frequency error of a reference frequency source of the radio device (100).
