Abstract: An optical sensor includes light sources configured to emit light, a substrate on which the light sources are mounted, the substrate comprising holes in regions on which the light sources are mounted, and a first photodetector configured to receive a first light emitted from a front surface of each of the light sources, the first light being reflected or scattered from an object. The optical sensor further includes at least one second photodetector configured to receive a second light emitted from a rear surface of each of the light sources, the second light passing through the holes corresponding to the light sources.

The apparatus further includes a processor configured to calculate a scattering coefficient and an absorption coefficient, based on the detected first light and the detected second light, and analyze the component of the object, based on the calculated scattering coefficient and the calculated absorption coefficient.

Abstract: Provided is a spectrum measurement apparatus including a light source configured to emit light to a sample; a light detector configured to receive light, which is reflected or scattered from, or transmitted through the sample, and to measure an intensity of the received light, and a processor configured to reconstruct a spectrum of the sample for calibration while adjusting a value of a spectrum reconstruction parameter in response to the light detector receiving the light and measuring the intensity of the received light, and to determine an optimal value of the spectrum reconstruction parameter based on a similarity between the reconstructed spectrum of the sample for calibration and an original spectrum of the sample for calibration.
