A method for controlling an electronic device and an electronic device are provided. The method includes displaying at least one object on a touch screen of the electronic device; identifying a first input at a position corresponding to the at least one object displayed on the touch screen; identifying the at least one object based on the first input; identifying a second input on the touch screen; displaying the identified at least one object at a location on the touch screen of the electronic device based on the identified second input; and providing feedback based on displaying the identified at least one object.

A controlling a portable device comprising a first touch screen and a second touch screen is provided. The method includes displaying first information related to a first application on the first touch screen and displaying second information related to the first application on the second touch screen; receiving a first user input moving to the first touch screen on the second touch screen; and replacing the first information and the second information with a third information and a fourth information related to the first application on the first touch screen and the second touch screen, in response to receiving the first user input, wherein each of the third information and the fourth information is displayed while being slidden in direction from the second touch screen to the first touch screen and the third information is displayed over a boundary between the first touch screen and the second screen during the sliding of the third information and the fourth information.

A method of controlling a portable device including at least one foldable panel and first and second touch screens is provided. The method includes displaying, on the first touch screen, a first page designated as a home screen and an icon related to at least one application, and a dock area, and displaying, on the second touch screen, first information in a state where the foldable panel is unfolded. The method also includes replacing the first page and the dock area with an outgoing call screen, receiving a phone number input, replacing the outgoing call screen with a dialing screen, and displaying, on the second touch screen, a guide message indicating to fold the portable device for a call. The method also includes replacing the dialing screen with a mid-call screen, and removing the guide message displayed on the second touch screen, and displaying the first information.

An electronic device and method of mirroring screen data is disclosed. The method includes communicatively coupling with an external display device, mirroring screen data displayed on a display of the electronic device by transmitting the screen data to the external display device for display, and in response to detection of a preset event, removing a subset of the screen data associated with the preset event, so that the subset is not displayed on the external display device.

Methods and a mobile terminal for providing visual and haptic feedback are provided. At least one first touch made to an object displayed on a touch screen is detected. The object is transformed and displayed in response to movement of the first touch. At least one second touch made to the displayed object is detected. Visual feedback is displayed on the touch screen in response to the second touch, and haptic feedback corresponding to a predetermined haptic pattern is output using a vibration motor.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for a portable terminal using a touch pen and a handwriting input method using the same are provided. In the apparatus, upon receipt of a handwriting image in an input field provided by an executed application through the touch pen, the received handwriting image is converted to text, the text is inserted in the input field, and the input field with the text is displayed.
