Abstract:
A method for controlling data flow by a proxy server connected between a User Equipment (UE) and a content server is disclosed. The proxy server estimates a first amount of data reception indicating an amount of data received by the UE and calculates a second amount of data reception indicating an amount of data received by the proxy server from the content server. The proxy server delays transmission of acknowledgement (ACK) on data received by the proxy server from the content server and waits until a time allowed for the transmission, if the second amount of data reception is greater than the first amount of data reception by a predetermined threshold. The resent disclosure may prevent a waste of network load and unnecessary resources by the proxy server controlling download data rate from the content server.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for providing a web service in a wireless communication system. The apparatus for providing the web service includes: a proxy unit receiving/sending data through the internet; a packet data conversion protocol (PDCP) unit producing and outputting at least one PDCP protocol data unit (PDU) by using the data; and a control unit monitoring the data received from the proxy unit and controlling the proxy unit to transmit data of a size acceptable by the PDCP unit on the basis of the data capacity of the PDCP unit.

Abstract:
In the present invention, a base station determines from a communication system whether a first content, which is requested by a mobile terminal, is saved on a cache memory, attributes a predetermined priority ranking to the first content and saves same on the cache memory when the first content is not saved on the cache memory, and updates the priority ranking of the first content on the basis of a predicted popularity of the first content, wherein the predicted popularity is decided on the basis of change in the number of views of a content that corresponds to a category of the first content.
Abstract:
A method and mobile station in a wireless communication system is provided. The method includes determining whether there is a packet that is at least one of transmitted and received for each of time intervals, determining a traffic status of at least one of transmission and reception based on a result of the determining of whether there is the packet that is the at least one of transmitted and received for each of the time intervals, and determining the internet connection status based on the determined traffic status of the at least on transmission and reception.
Abstract:
According to the present invention, a base station determines from a wireless communication system whether data to be transmitted is a response signal-required data that requires a response signal, estimates the amount of buffer of a user equipment (UE) at the point when the response signal is to be transmitted, predicts a required resource amount of the UE that is required for transmitting the response signal by using the buffer amount of the UE that is estimated, and schedules for allocating a resource to the UE on the basis of the required resource amount that is predicted.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for performing congestion control in a transmission control protocol (TCP) environment in a wireless communication system are provided. At least one recovery session is opened a preset time after a time-out occurs in an original session, and whether link recovery is achieved after the at least one recovery session is opened and before a preset maximum wait time elapses is monitored. If the link recovery is achieved, a transmission speed is recovered according to a scenario corresponding to a time when the link recovery is achieved.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a method for simultaneously receiving a multimedia service over multiple radio access networks are provided. The electronic device includes a plurality of network interfaces for accessing a multimedia service provider, and a multi-interface handler for controlling to receive a multimedia service content divided, from the service provider via the network interfaces respectively, if part of the content is completely received via one of the network interfaces, to receive the remaining content re-divided via the network interfaces.

Abstract:
A handover method at a source eNB (enhanced Node B) of a mobile communication system is provided. The method includes, in case a request message for providing content is received from UE (User Equipment), checking whether the content is stored in a cache thereof, and therefore transmitting the content to the UE, in case a handover request message is received from the UE, transmitting a content confirmation request message, which requests confirmation of whether the content is stored in a cache, to a target eNB to which the UE is to be handed over, and in case a content confirmation response message is received from the target eNB, transmitting context information, which is information about contents offered to the UE, to the target eNB.
