An apparatus for tracking a location of a wireless terminal based on an image is provided. The apparatus includes an image matching database to store images classified by regions, and a matcher to receive a query image captured by a camera module of the wireless terminal and image matching data that contains region information about where the query image is captured, to search the image matching database for a matching image that corresponds to the image matching data, to determine if the query image matches the matching image, and to send the wireless terminal location information that corresponds to the matching information if the query image matches the matching image.

An emergency notification system and server are provided. The emergency notification system includes a wearable device that senses biosignals of a user wearing the wearable device and captures environment data; and a mobile device that periodically receives at least one of the biosignals and the environment data from the wearable device, determines a distance between the mobile device and the wearable device, periodically transmits the at least one of the biosignals and the environment data to a server, requests the wearable device to provide the at least one of the biosignals and the environment data, and transmits the received at least one of the biosignals and the environment data to the server.

An electronic device and method for updating authentication information in the electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a short-range communication unit configured to provide a short-range communication and a controller configured to update information for authentication information from advertisement service information received from an Access Point (AP) identified through the short-range communication unit, download authentication information using the update information for authentication information, and connect the electronic device to the AP based on the authentication information.

An apparatus for providing a wireless communication in a portable terminal includes a wireless communication unit and a controller which verifies basic service set identifications (BSSIDs) of access points when roaming between access points is completed, verifies whether an internet protocol (IP) address is assigned based on a wireless communication network list and the verified BSSIDs, and performs a wireless communication by using an IP address which is in use according to a verification result, wherein the wireless communication network list is a list which classifies a plurality of access points according to the same dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) by using BSSIDs of the plurality of access points connected to the portable terminal.

The method includes determining, by the electronic device, a position estimation point according to state information of the electronic device. Various embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an electronic device and a method for authenticating a fingerprint in an electronic device, the electronic device performs operations including: performing an authentication process for an input fingerprint based on registered authentication information; when the authentication of the input fingerprint is successfully performed, detecting similarity information of the input fingerprint; storing the detected similarity information in conjunction with an authentication time in a fingerprint information database; and updating the registered authentication information using at least one piece of stored fingerprint information based on the similarity information stored in the fingerprint information database, thereby making it possible to prevent and/or reduce the fingerprint authentication rate from being decreased based on the change of the fingerprint so that security can be maintained.

The present invention relates to a 5th-generation (5G) or pre-5G communication system to be provided for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4th-generation (4G) communication system, such as long term evolution (LTE), and subsequent systems. The present invention provides a method by which a mobile station (MS) operates a beam in a communication system supporting a hybrid multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) mode, the method comprising the steps of: receiving, from a base station (BS), information related to the number of beams to be used, by the BS, for a beam training process; receiving, from the BS, a downlink reference signal (RS); performing a channel estimation process on the basis of the downlink RS; and transmitting, to the BS, information related to the number of beams to be used by the MS, after performing the channel estimation process.
