This invention provides a substance capable of competitively inhibiting the binding of monoclonal antibody 8H9. This invention also provides an isolated scFv of monoclonal antibody 8H9 or a derivative thereof. This invention also provides the 8H9 antigen. This invention also provides different uses of the monoclonal antibody 8H9 or its derivative.

The method comprises administering a suitable orally administered glucan and at least one antibody for the treatment of cancer to the mammal. In addition a composition for delivery of peptide, protein, RNA, DNA or plasmid comprising effective amount of a beta-glucan is disclosed.
