Abstract: Systems, methods, and apparatuses for irrigating a tissue site are described. The system can include a tissue interface and a sealing member configured to be placed over the tissue site to form a sealed space, and a negative-pressure source fluidly coupled to the sealed space. The system includes an irrigation valve having a housing, a piston disposed in the housing, a fluid inlet to fluidly couple a fluid inlet chamber to a fluid source, and a fluid outlet to fluidly couple a fluid outlet chamber to the sealed space. A piston passage extends through the piston and fluidly couples the fluid inlet chamber and the fluid outlet chamber, and a biasing member is coupled to the piston to bias the irrigation valve to a closed position. The negative-pressure source is configured to move the piston between the closed position and an open position to draw fluid to the sealed space.

Abstract: A cover for protecting a tissue site may comprise a shell layer, an adhesive disposed on the shell layer, and a contact layer disposed adjacent to the adhesive. The contact layer may have a first pattern of apertures and bridges, and the shell layer may have a second pattern of apertures overlaying the bridges. In some examples, the adhesive may have a bond strength that is greater than the tensile modulus of the shell layer. The contact layer may have an open area of about 40 percent to about 50 percent of the total area of the contact layer. A release liner may be disposed adjacent to the contact layer. Perforations through the shell layer and the contact layer can define a sacrificial segment configured to be separated from the shell layer and the contact layer. A handling bar may be coupled to the sacrificial segment.

Abstract: This disclosure includes wound dressings and systems for effluent management of topical wound therapy and related methods. Some devices, which are configured to dilute therapeutic gas effluent flowing from a dressing, comprise a therapeutic gas source configured to provide therapeutic gas to the dressing; a container comprising a sidewall that defines a chamber configured to receive therapeutic gas effluent from the dressing; a negative pressure source configured to be coupled to the container such that the negative pressure source can be activated to draw fluid from the dressing through the chamber of the container; and a diluent gas source configured to deliver a diluent gas to dilute therapeutic gas effluent before the therapeutic gas effluent enters the negative pressure source.

Abstract: A dressing includes a manifold layer and a drape coupled to the manifold layer and configured to seal the manifold layer over a wound. The drape has an opening extending therethrough. A connection pad is positioned at the opening and configured to couple the dressing to a tube. The connection pad includes an outer ring coupled to the drape and a center dimple extending away from the drape and defining a volume between the center dimple and a plane defined by the outer ring. The dressing also includes an absorbent manifolding structure positioned between the center dimple and the manifold layer and formed to substantially match a shape of the volume.

Abstract: In some illustrative examples, a bridge suitable for treating a tissue site may include a bridge sealing member and one or more bridge wicking layers. The bridge sealing member may extend along a length of the bridge, and may define an internal passageway in fluid communication between a receiving end of the bridge and a transmitting end of the bridge. The one or more bridge wicking layers may be disposed within the internal passageway of the bridge sealing member. Other apparatus, systems, and methods are disclosed.

Abstract: This disclosure describes devices, systems, and methods related to a connection point of a therapy system which includes light switchable adhesive and is configured to be switched by light provided by and/or via one or more components of the therapy system. An example of a connection point is an interface between two tubes of therapy system. An example of light provided to the exemplary connection point is light provided to one of the two tubes such that the light travels to the connection point, via at least the one tube, to switch the light switchable adhesive.

Abstract: A reduced-pressure system for treating a tissue site on a patient includes a distribution manifold that adheres to a tissue site to allow retention without external support. The distribution manifold includes a porous member and a tissue-fixation element. The tissue-fixation element maintains the porous member substantially adjacent to the tissue site while a sealing member is applied. In one instance, the tissue-fixation element is a soluble adhesive that partially covers either the tissue-facing side of the porous member or a tissue-facing side of a fluid-permeable substrate layer that is on the tissue-facing side of the porous member. Other systems, distributions manifolds, and methods are presented.

Abstract: A medical drape for use with a reduced pressure system for providing reduced pressure to a tissue site is described. In some embodiments, the drape may include a flexible film, and an adhesive layer coupled to the flexible film. The adhesive layer may include a first adhesive disposed on a first portion of the flexible film in a first pattern. The first adhesive can be configured to secure the flexible film proximate to the tissue site. The adhesive layer generally includes a second adhesive disposed on a second portion of the flexible film in a second pattern. The second adhesive can be configured to seal the flexible film proximate to the tissue site. The first pattern and the second pattern are preferably registered so that the first portion and the second portion are offset to cover substantially different portions of the flexible film.
