Abstract: A cable backplane system includes cable backplanes each including a tray configured to be coupled to a chassis and a plurality of cable connector assemblies mounted to the tray. The tray has a plate extending between a front and a rear with mounting locations receiving corresponding cable connector assemblies. The trays are oriented parallel to each other with front openings between the fronts of the plates and rear openings between the rears of the plates. Each cable connector assembly has a housing holding contacts terminated to corresponding cables. Each cable connector assembly has a holder mounted to the corresponding mounting location of the plate. The holder is mounted to the plate and removable from the plate through the rear opening at the rear of the plate.

Abstract: A power connector system for a circuit card assembly includes a board power connector and a cable power connector coupled to the board power connector. The board power connector includes a board housing having cavities that hold power contacts and signal contact channels on the bottom that hold signal contacts. The cable power connector has a cable housing having contact silos holding cable power contacts terminated to power cables. The contact silos and the cable power contacts are received in the cavities of the board housing to mate the cable power contacts with the board power contacts. The cable housing includes a platform below the contact silos holding cable signal contacts at the bottom of the cable housing outside of the contact silos for mating with the board signal contacts when the cable power connector is mated with the board power connector.

Abstract: A power connector includes a housing having a mating slot at a front having terminal channels holding power terminals between the slot and the corresponding side of the housing. Each power terminal includes a plate extending from the slot through a rear of the housing to an exterior of the housing for termination to a corresponding power element. The power terminal has a contact array of contacts discrete from and coupled to the plate. Each contact has a plate interface electrically coupled to the plate and a bus bar interface configured to be electrically coupled to a corresponding rail of the bus bar. The contacts are arranged along a corresponding side of the slot for interfacing with the bus bar.

Abstract: A power delivery module includes a frame having rails defining an opening that receives an electronic package. A bottom of the frame is mounted to a host circuit board and faces an upper surface of the electronic package. The frame is a layered structure including a power plate, a ground plate, and an insulator electrically isolating the power plate from the ground plate. The power deliver module includes module power contacts electrically connected to the power plate and extending from the bottom for electrical connection to package power contacts of the electronic package. Module ground contacts are electrically connected to the ground plate and extend from the bottom for electrical connection to package ground contacts of the electronic package. The module power contacts and the module ground contacts deliver power to the electronic package.

Abstract: An electrical connector system includes a circuit card assembly and a pluggable module. The circuit card assembly including a host circuit board, a socket connector mounted to the host circuit board, and a guide rail extending along the host circuit board. The socket connector has a socket substrate having upper contacts having mating interfaces being accessible from above the socket connector and being coplanar. The guide rail has a guide feature and a module actuator. The pluggable module includes a module body operatively engaging the guide rail to guide mating of the module body with the guide rail in a module mating direction. The pluggable module includes an actuation feature engaging the module actuator to force mating of module contacts with the upper contacts in a contact mating direction transverse to the module mating direction.

Abstract: A cable connector includes a twin-axial cable having a first conductor and a second conductor within a core of the cable. The cable connector includes first and second signal contacts including cable terminals terminated to the conductors and substrate terminals generally perpendicular to the cable terminals and terminated to a substrate. The cable connector includes a contact holder having a body encasing portions of the first and second signal contacts. The contact holder has a front and a rear, and a top and a bottom. The cable terminals are arranged proximate to the rear for termination to the cable. The cable extends from the rear of the contact holder. The substrate terminals are exposed at the bottom for termination to the substrate.

Abstract: A panel mount connector assembly includes a panel mount bracket having a cavity with a front opening. The assembly includes a connector movably received in the cavity holding contacts at a mating end and cables extending from a cable end. The assembly includes a biasing mechanism received in the cavity engaging the connector and forward biasing the connector in the cavity. The biasing mechanism has a biasing force exceeding a mating force with the mating connector such that the connector remains forward biased in the cavity during mating with the mating connector. The biasing mechanism allows the connector to move rearward when the biasing force is exceeded.

Abstract: A connector assembly includes a first module and a second module. Each of the first and second modules extends parallel to a longitudinal axis between a respective front end and a respective rear end opposite the front end. Each of the first and second modules includes a respective shell and one or more electrical connectors held by the shell and exposed at the respective front end for mating to a corresponding mating electrical device. The shell of the second module is mechanically coupled to the shell of the first module between the front and rear ends of the first module. The second module is movable relative to the first module parallel to the longitudinal axis to allow for separately mating the first and second modules to the corresponding mating electrical devices.
