Abstract: An electrical connector and system for connecting to a terminal post. The electrical connector includes a housing body, a contact and a locking release member. The housing body includes a post receiving passage for receiving the terminal post therein. The contact is provided in the post receiving passage and is positioned about the circumference of the post receiving passage. The contact will make an electrical engagement with a terminal post inserted into the post receiving passage regardless of the orientation of the terminal post with respect to the contact. The electrical connector which prevents the improper mating of the connector to the post, prevents unwanted rotation of the connector, provides a visual indication that the proper connection is secured and provides a secondary lock to ensure that unwanted unmating of the connector does not occur.

Abstract: A receptacle connector is provided for a wearable article. The receptacle connector includes a housing having a receptacle configured to receive a complementary plug connector therein. The housing is configured to be mounted to the wearable article. A printed circuit board is held by the housing. The printed circuit board includes mating contacts for mating with the plug connector. The printed circuit board includes mounting contacts that are configured to terminate conductors of a flat cable of the wearable article or an e-textile of the wearable article.

Abstract: An electrical connector system includes a backplane connector having a housing, signal contacts held by the housing and shield plates held by the housing. The housing includes a front and a rear. The housing includes signal channels extending along mating axes thereof between the front and the rear. The signal channels receive corresponding signal contacts. The housing includes slots that receive the shield plates. The signal contacts extend along the mating axes and are arranged in pairs carrying differential signals. The shield plates are electrically conductive and extend generally parallel to the mating axes between corresponding pairs of signal contacts to entirely peripherally surround the pairs of signal contacts to provide electrical shielding for the pairs of signal contacts.
