摘要: There is a method and an apparatus for reading an image in which the light emitted from a light source through an original is converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric converting device and is outputted as an image singal. In this method, a compensation light is radiated onto the photoelectric converting device and thereby causing a compensation signal to be generated therefrom; this compensation signal is stored into a memory; an original image is then read; and the read signal is compensated by the compensation signal stored in the memory. The compensation light corresponds to each intensity of lights which are obtained through a reference original to be read and which are received by the photoelectric converting device. By use of this method in an original reading section of a facsimile apparatus or the like, an ununiformity and a variation in signal of each bit which is read by the photoelectric converting device are compensated, so that a stable output image signal can be derived.

摘要: A process for producing a cationic emulsion stable to alkalis having an average particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.1 micron, in which, using as an emulsifier, a water-soluble polymer A2 obtained by subjecting a polymer A1 obtained by copolymerizing an amino group-containing compound with a compound copolymerizable therewith in the presence of a polymerization initiator, to neutralization with an organic or inorganic acid, a specific epoxy group-containing acrylate compound (c) and a compound copolymerizable therewith are subjected in combination to emulsion polymerization in the presence of a redox catalyst system in water as a medium to obtain an emulsion D; the emulsion D is then reacted with epichlorohydrin. The cationic emulsion is coated on paper, a film, or a strongly alkaline substrate to impart water resistance.

摘要: In the case where a plurality of photo sensing elements are arranged in a line to form a linear sensor and picture images are sequentially read out by the photo sensing elements, the uniform illumination is performed by lighting both the light source corresponding to the photo sensing element which is reading and at least one of the light sources adjacent to that light source, thereby obtaining an output signal with less read-out distortion. A plurality of light sources arranged respectively in correspondence with the plurality of photo sensing elements are sequentially turned on by a plurality of blocks at a time and are scanned, thereby providing uniform illumination and suppressing an amount of heat generation in the light sources when they are lit, so that deterioration in the characteristics of the light sources is prevented. In addition, the light source and power source sections are miniaturized, thereby realizing a decrease in size and weight of the whole apparatus.

摘要: An LED array has a plurality of LED blocks each of which can independently be illuminated or extinguished. The LED array includes an illumination control unit for illuminating, after the lapse of a time period T1 after a block is illuminated, a succeeding block; an extinguishment control unit for extinguishing, after the lapse of a time period T2 after a block is illuminated, another block which has been illuminated since before the former block was illuminated; and a time control unit for determining the time period T2. The time control unit is adapted to automatically control the time period T2 in accordance with the outputs from a line sensor which reads out an original image illuminated by the LED array.
