    摘要: An ink jet recording apparatus includes an orifice for ejecting ink; a heater for generating thermal energy to produce a bubble to eject the ink; an ink passage for supplying ink to the orifice, the ink passage being provided with the heater; an ink container for containing ink to be supplied to the ink passage, the ink container retaining the ink, using capillary force; wherein the following is satisfied:V.sub.OH >[(R'+P)/(F'+R'+P).times.(F+R)/R+1 ]Vdwhere V.sub.OH is a volume of the ink passage from the orifice to an edge of the heater adjacent the orifice, Vd is a volume of ink ejected from the orifice, F is a flow resistance from a center of the heater to the orifice; R is a flow resistance from a center of the heater to the ink container; F' is a flow resistance from a maximum bubble produced on the heater to the orifice; R' is a flow resistance from a maximum bubble produced on the heater to the ink container, and P is a flow resistance of the ink container.

    摘要: An ink supply mechanism, which supplies ink from an ink container for storing ink to an ink jet recording unit which discharges ink, comprises a first filter member provided in an ink outlet section of the ink container; an ink supply passage which conductively connects the ink jet recording unit and the ink container for supplying ink from the ink container to the ink jet recording unit; and a second filter member provided in the ink supply passage between ink discharging ports of the recording unit and the first filter member. The second filter member is provided with holes which create the capillary force greater than the negative pressure in the ink container. With the above structure, it is possible to provide an ink jet recording apparatus capable of making the recovery amount compatible between a usual recording device and a recording device of a high-speed type, making a recording device of a high-speed type usable in a usual recording apparatus, and improving the ink usage efficiency in the recovery process.

    摘要: An ink jet head includes a heater board having a substrate on which a plurality of energy generating elements for generating energy utilized to discharge ink are provided, and a wall member joined to the heater board. The wall member has a plurality of flow passage walls which partially define flow passages, and the energy generated by the energy generating element acts through the flow passage so as to act on the ink to discharge the ink. The flow passages are fully defined when the heater board is joined to the wall member. A recessed portion provided in the heater board of the ink jet head is positioned between adjoining energy generating elements. The recessed portion has a bottom surface located at a position which is lower than a position for a heat acting surface of the heater board along which heat is transmitted to the ink. The flow passage walls of the wall member abut the heater board at the bottom surface. Consequently, any pressure wave generated by the energy generating element is not released to an adjacent flow passage, and crosstalk between the adjoining flow passages can be prevented. As a result, an ink jet head exhibiting excellent printing quality can be provided.
