Abstract:
A printing method is provided for use with a printer which reads and then outputs to a printer head a fixed number of bits at a time so as to permit the printer to use a printer head having a number of nozzles which is different than the fixed number of bits. According to this technique, bit data corresponding to an image band to be printed is obtained, the band including multiple pixel arrays, the pixels in each pixel array being arranged in a manner similar to the nozzles in a printer head. In a first loading step, bit data for m pixels of an i-th pixel array are loaded into a register in the printer head, m being a predetermined integer, and i being an arbitrary integer. In a second loading step, bit data for n pixels of an (i+1)-th pixel array are loaded into the register in the printer head, n being a predetermined integer. Finally, the printer head is caused to print an array of dots based on the contents of a register which includes the bit data loaded pursuant to the first and second loading steps, the printed array of dots corresponding to the i-th pixel array.
Abstract:
A method for representing characters constructing texts in a dot pattern and modifying the dot density to transmission. The method is realized by transmitting texts according to steps of storing characters constructing a text in a character code, developing the character code to an outputting dot pattern, converting a dot density of the dot pattern correspondingly to a resolution for transmission, and transmitting information according to the dot pattern having the dot density converted as above. The method is then effected by a text transmitting apparatus comprising an input unit for inputting characters, a memory for storing a text consisting of the inputted characters in a character code, a developing unit for developing the character code to an outputting dot pattern, a converter for converting a dot density of the dot pattern, and a transmission controller for controlling transmission of the converted dot pattern.
Abstract:
According to this invention, the date range can be intuitively designated by designating up, down, left, and right directions, and images stored in a storage medium can be easily restricted to images which may be subjected to printing. In order to restrict images stored in a memory card on the basis of the date, a region for inputting the start date of the date range is displayed at the upper portion of a display window on a display device, and a region for inputting the end date is displayed at the lower portion. One of the regions is designated and selected with up and down direction keys. A date in the selected region is changed with left and right direction keys. Images having storage dates between the start date and the end date are decided as printing target candidates.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an information processing system in which a high-order apparatus and a low-order apparatus are connected so as to be capable of bidirectional communicating. The low-order apparatus stores control command information of the low-order apparatus in a ROM and, in response to a request from the high-order apparatus, transmits the control command information to the high-order apparatus to store the information in a memory of the high-order apparatus. Using the control command information corresponding to the low-order apparatus stored in the memory, the high-order apparatus transmits print data to the low-order apparatus and controls the operation of the low-order apparatus.

Abstract:
A motor control apparatus for outputting the excitation signal of a stepper motor to drive the stepper motor includes a unit for specifying the driving current of the motor, and a determination unit for determining the driving mode of the stepper motor. Driving modes include at least an acceleration mode and a deceleration mode. The motor control apparatus further includes a unit for specifying a driving current according to each driving mode, and a unit for suppressing the driving current near the start of the acceleration mode and near the end of the deceleration mode. The motor control apparatus drives the stepper motor at a high speed in a low noise with a low cost, and prevents wasteful motor heating.
Abstract:
A host system for controlling a print head of an image printing device having at least one print head. The system includes the steps of obtaining profile information of the at least one print head, storing the profile parameters in a non-volatile memory, and outputting, upon request, the profile information to a host computer connected to the image printing device, wherein the host computer utilizes the print head profile information to produce compensation parameters which compensate print information to be sent from the host computer to the print head for printing.

A document processing apparatus having a spell checker function for detecting a misspelling of an input word, and informing the operator of the detected misspelling, includes the presence control unit for detecting a dictionary memory used in detection of the misspelling of the word, and enabling/disabling the spell checker function in accordance with the detection result.
Abstract:
A character processing apparatus such as an electronic typewriter which can erase the recorded characters on a word unit basis. The apparatus includes: a keyboard to input a plurality of character strings such as English words; a memory to store the character strings input by the keyboard; a printer head which can record the character strings stored in the memory onto a recording paper and can delete the recorded character strings; a deletion instructing device to instruct to delete one of the character strings recorded on the paper by the printer head; and a control which is constructed in a manner such that in response to the deletion instruction, when the printer head exists at the position corresponding to the character string recorded on the paper, this character string is deleted, and when the printer head does not exist at the position corresponding to the character string recorded on the paper, the printer head is moved to the position of the nearest character string and this character string is deleted. The printer head is a head of the type wheel printer mechanism. With the apparatus, in the word deleting mode, the running cost can be reduced, the throughput can be improved, and the word deletion can be easily executed by a simple operation.
