摘要: A present invention provides an ink jet printing apparatus comprising an ink replenishing system which prevents ink leakage when a power supply from a main power source is cut off due to a power failure or the like while an ink reserving section of a print head of the ink jet printing apparatus is replenished with ink. The ink replenishing system is capable of properly managing the amount of ink in the ink reserving section. In the ink jet printing apparatus, when a power supply from a main power source is cut off after the start of an ink replenishing operation, power is supplied from a secondary power source so that ink replenishing control is executed depending on the power state of the secondary power source. If the ink replenishing operation has not been completed, after the main power source is recovered, the ink replenishing operation is performed again.

摘要: A printing method is provided for use with a printer which reads and then outputs to a printer head a fixed number of bits at a time so as to permit the printer to use a printer head having a number of nozzles which is different than the fixed number of bits. According to this technique, bit data corresponding to an image band to be printed is obtained, the band including multiple pixel arrays, the pixels in each pixel array being arranged in a manner similar to the nozzles in a printer head. In a first loading step, bit data for m pixels of an i-th pixel array are loaded into a register in the printer head, m being a predetermined integer, and i being an arbitrary integer. In a second loading step, bit data for n pixels of an (i+1)-th pixel array are loaded into the register in the printer head, n being a predetermined integer. Finally, the printer head is caused to print an array of dots based on the contents of a register which includes the bit data loaded pursuant to the first and second loading steps, the printed array of dots corresponding to the i-th pixel array.

摘要: A method for representing characters constructing texts in a dot pattern and modifying the dot density to transmission. The method is realized by transmitting texts according to steps of storing characters constructing a text in a character code, developing the character code to an outputting dot pattern, converting a dot density of the dot pattern correspondingly to a resolution for transmission, and transmitting information according to the dot pattern having the dot density converted as above. The method is then effected by a text transmitting apparatus comprising an input unit for inputting characters, a memory for storing a text consisting of the inputted characters in a character code, a developing unit for developing the character code to an outputting dot pattern, a converter for converting a dot density of the dot pattern, and a transmission controller for controlling transmission of the converted dot pattern.

摘要: This invention has as its object to receive image data from image sensing apparatuses of various manufacturers and to print a high-quality image by making image data transfer and a printing instruction, which are independent from interfaces. Since an image sensing apparatus such as a digital camera or the like calculates image feature amounts, and transfers the calculation result to a printing apparatus, huge image data need not be transferred from the image sensing apparatus to the printing apparatus again and again, and a high-quality image can be output. Upon printing image data transmitted from a digital camera (DSC) (3012) to a PD printer (1000), after a protocol is established by applications (NCDP) installed in the PD printer and DSC, the PD printer transmits its Capability list to the DSC. The DSC calculates an image feature amount of a selected image to be printed, and transmits the calculation result to the PD printer. Upon reception of this information, the PD printer makes image correction based on that image feature amount, and records (prints) an image.
