摘要: Module combination candidates which compose an information platform, to reduce human error when a platform is composed, and to permit automatic configuration changes. There is therefore provided a compound information platform comprising information platforms combining one or more universal processing modules and dedicated processing modules, wherein a management module has a means which computes processing module combination candidates when newly composing the information platform, computes the sum total value of the maximum guaranteed communication bandwidth of an IO protocol interface for each physical interconnection PL using an interface setting management information, adding an additional maximum guaranteed communication bandwidth due to a processing module combination candidate, and determining whether this is a possible module combination candidate by comparing the addition result with the maximum permitted communication bandwidth of each physical interconnection.

摘要: A method for moving files between network storages in a virtualized network storage system having multiple network storages and rebalancing the free disk spaces. It periodically judges whether to start rebalancing. Two different conditions are adopted for the determination of start: (a) an imbalance of free disk spaces and the minimum value of the free disk spaces is less than a threshold and (b) an imbalance of free disk spaces and the frequency of accesses to the system is less than a threshold. Rebalancing is performed until the difference in free disk spaces falls below the threshold without exceeding the maximum execution time of rebalancing. If a request to write into a file which is being moved from a client takes place during a file moving step, the movement of the file is aborted and the file is deleted from the destination.

摘要: Parallel processors communicate with each other over a network by transmitting messages that include destination processor information. A message controller for each processor in the network receives the messages and checks for faults in the message, particularly in the destination processor number contained in a first word of the message. If a fault occurs in the destination processor number, then the faulty message is transmitted to an appropriate processor for handling the fault. In this way the network operation is not suspended because of the fault and the message is not left in the network as a result of the error occurring in the destination processor number. The processor to which the faulty message is directed is determined by a substitute destination processor number contained in the message or is predetermined and set in another way, such as by a service processor. To recover from the fault, the processor receiving the faulty message can request that the message be retransmitted or the error can be corrected using an ECC, for example. If the faulty message cannot be retransmitted, then the processor or the host processor can request that the job to which the faulty message pertains be canceled by all of the processors executing that job without affecting the simultaneous execution of other jobs by the same processors.

摘要: In a multi-tenant information processing system, when initially constructing a tenant, design items depending on the tenant are specified for each device constituting the tenant, and design values of the design items are calculated without overlapping with those of other tenants. In a tenant design item management table, the design items set for the devices and information indicating whether the design items depend on the tenant, are stored for each device. In a design algorithm management table, calculation formulae for making the design values to be different for each tenant are stored corresponding to the design items. A tenant design unit refers to the tenant design item management table, specifies the design items depending on the tenant among those corresponding to the devices constituting the tenant, calculates the design values of the design items according to the calculation formula, when initially constructing the tenant.

摘要: Provided is a computer system in which an I/O card is shared among physical servers and logical servers. Servers are set in advance such that one I/O card is used exclusively by one physical or logical server, or shared among a plurality of servers. An I/O hub allocates a virtual MM I/O address unique to each physical or logical server to a physical MM I/O address associated with each I/O card. The I/O hub keeps allocation information indicating the relation between the allocated virtual MM I/O address, the physical MM I/O address, and a server identifier unique to each physical or logical server. When a request to access an I/O card is sent from a physical or logical server, the allocation information is referred to and a server identifier is extracted from the access request. The extracted server identifier is used to identify the physical or logical server that has made the access request.

摘要: A virtualizing file system view method for virtualizing one or more network storage devices into a virtualized file system view network storage system wherein destination network storage information of stored files is compactly held regardless of the number of files, and files are separated into one or more file groups and the file groups managed in destination network storage units. Until now, managing network storage unit information in individual files was necessary however the virtualizing file system view method reduces the management information that must be held and efficiently utilizes network storage capacity without holding destination network storage information in individual files. The cost of rewriting information is also lowered during structural changes such as adding or deleting network storage units since storage destination network information can be rewritten in file groups.
