An encoder is provided which is rotated with the motor and individually has the information which indicates rotating displacement and the information which indicates rotating position. Further, a sensor detects the information indicating the rotating position recorded on the encoder, and another sensor detects the information indicating the rotating displacement recorded on the encoder.

A warning device alerts the user that a position on the disc is occupied by referring TOC area when it is instructed to record new information in the position of the information recording area where another information has already been recorded.

    摘要: A recording/reproducing device performs the recording/reproduction on a recording medium having an information recording area and a table of contents area. The recording medium is provided with guiding grooves that snake in cycles corresponding to values of absolute addresses. The device divides the information recording area into a plurality of domains. Each domain corresponds to a single sampling frequency with respect to the information being recorded. An electromagnet and an optical head record information in the domain that corresponds to its sampling frequency and records additional information concerning the division in the table of contents. A spindle motor drives the disk which is adjusted such that the velocity of the disk is changed for each domain during recording and reproduction. A demodulator obtains the absolute addresses through demodulation by comparing frequencies determined from the snaking cycles of the guiding grooves with a reference frequency. An operational circuit converts the demodulated absolute addresses in accordance with the velocity of the disk into corrected absolute addresses that represented the period of time which has elapsed since the starting time. As a result, the burden imposed on the spindle motor is relieved, the demodulation of the absolute addresses may be executed accurately even when the rotational speed of the disk varies, and the time elapsed since the start of the recording/reproduction may be determined.

    摘要: The track counter for optical disk in accordance with the present invention, that counts the number of tracks a light beam passes upon when an optical head moves over an optical disk in the radial direction, comprises a passage signal generating circuit for detecting based on a reflected light of the light beam from the optical disk, that the light beam passed upon a track and for releasing a passage signal on that occasion, a counter that counts the passage signals released by the passage signal generating circuit, a count suspending circuit for forecasting that the light beam will pass upon a specific position of a track and for suspending the count by the aforementioned counter of the passage signals during this forecasted period, and a count value compensating circuit for assuming, when the count of the passage signals is suspended by the count suspending circuit, the number of tracks the light beam passed upon during that period, and for adding this assumed number to the count value of the counter. This track counter for optical disk is arranged such that it is able to count accurately the number of tracks the light beam passed upon even when the light beam passed upon the ID sections of a track, or when the passage upon a track cannot be detected because of a scratch on the surface of the disk or the like. Thereby, when the optical head moves and slides, the access speed may be enhanced.

    摘要: An optical memory disc medium contains a plurality of guide groove tracks. The guide groove tracks are arranged parallel to each other and they are used for controlling a position of a light beam. There is a land region between the guide groove tracks which is wider than the width of the guide groove tracks as measured in the disc-radial direction. Prepits for providing address information for the guide groove tracks are provided. The prepits are formed on the land regions and interposed between the lateral edges in the disc-radial direction of adjacent parallel guide groove tracks. Each prepit has a width which width is a narrower dimension than the width of each guide groove track as measured in the disc-radial direction.
