摘要: An energy subtraction processing method and apparatus for radiation images includes irradiating radiation, which has a predetermined energy range, into an object in a recording unit, and irradiating the radiation, which has passed through the object, to a recording medium capable of recording a plurality of radiation images during its exposure to radiation with different energy distributions. A plurality of radiation images of the object are thereby recorded on the recording medium. From the recording medium on which the radiation images have been recorded, a plurality of image signals are obtained by a read-out unit. The image signals represent the radiation images of the object. A modulation transfer function (MTF) correcting process is carried out on the image signals in an operation unit such that differences between MTF's of the radiation images of the object may be eliminated. Subtracting operations are then carried out in the operation unit on image signals, which are obtained from the MTF correcting process.

摘要: A stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, is scanned with stimulating rays in a main scanning direction and in a sub-scanning direction. The stimulating rays cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. The light emitted by the portion of the stimulable phosphor sheet exposed to the stimulating rays is photoelectrically detected, and an image signal representing the radiation image is thereby obtained. The speed, with which a stimulable phosphor sheet is scanned with the stimulating rays in the main scanning direction, is set to be the same for a plurality of stimulable phosphor sheets. The speed, with which a stimulable phosphor sheet is scanned with the stimulating rays in the sub-scanning direction, is set to be equal to a value inherent to each of the plurality of stimulable phosphor sheets. An image signal, which has been detected from each of the plurality of stimulable phosphor sheets, is processed, and a processed image signal is thereby obtained which represents a processed image wherein the resolution, with which the picture elements in the processed image are arrayed along the sub-scanning direction, is equal to a predetermined value.

摘要: In a radiation image read-out apparatus, a stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image has been stored, is scanned with a stimulating ray beam, which causes the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. The light, which is emitted by part of the stimulable phosphor sheet being scanned with the stimulating ray beam, is photoelectrically detected and converted into an image signal. The beam diameter of the stimulating ray beam is adjusted such that it is larger than the size of each picture element in the radiation image. Each picture element is scanned with the stimulating ray beam by a plurality of scanning steps such that the position, which is scanned, is shifted for different scanning steps. A filtering device is provided, with which a single image signal component representing each picture element is generated from a plurality of image signal components, which are obtained during the plurality of scanning steps for each picture element.

摘要: The image display method and apparatus display a monochromatic image with a color display device in which a unit pixel is composed of R, G and B cells and display the monochromatic image having a higher gradation resolution than reproduction performance of each of the R, G and B cells in the color display device. In the method and apparatus, input data of the monochromatic image to be displayed on the color display device is allotted to R, G and B data for the R, G and B cells, respectively and the R, G and B data of the monochromatic image obtained by allotment is output to the R, G and B cells for display on the color display device. The method and apparatus can display an increased number of gradations so that monochromatic images used in the medical field can be displayed in a sufficiently high definition to suit diagnostic purposes.

摘要: A radiation image read-out method includes obtaining an image signal, which represents a radiation image, from a solid-state radiation detector constituted of a plurality of solid-state detecting devices for detecting radiation, which are arrayed in a matrix-like form along a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction and each of which corresponds to one pixel. A pixel density transforming process is performed on the image signal and in accordance with a pixel size, which is determined in accordance with a desired image size in cases where read-out processing is performed with respect to different image sizes, a read-out density of a solid-state radiation detector need not be altered, but the method can cope with narrowness of an allowable width of the number of pixels in an image reproducing apparatus or an image filing apparatus.

摘要: In an energetic-beam detection apparatus having a selenium detector which includes a substrate and an energetic-beam absorber being formed on the substrate and containing selenium, a temperature detecting unit detects a temperature of the selenium detector, and a temperature control unit controls the temperature of the selenium detector so that the temperature is maintained in a predetermined range when the selenium detector is in operation. Alternatively, when the temperature of the selenium detector is outside a predetermined range, an operation suppressing unit suppresses the operation of the selenium detector, or a notification unit notifies a user of the deviation of the temperature of the selenium detector from the predetermined range.
