    Abstract: A movable part locking jig is loaded into a cassette loader in a radiation image forming apparatus, and a lever is moved to project casing locking members from opposite side walls of a casing, thereby locking the movable part locking jig in the radiation image forming apparatus. Movable part locking members also projects to be brought into abutment against suction cups disposed near the cassette loader, thereby locking the suction cups. Then, the radiation image forming apparatus is moved to a desired location.

    Abstract: An image readout apparatus with a panel light source that allows a high yield rate for mounting the panel driver ICs, and enhanced connection reliability for the driver ICs with reduced cost. The panel light source is constituted by a plurality of El blocks arranged side by side, each including a plurality of line electrodes disposed in stripes, and a flat plate electrode disposed opposite to the plurality of line electrodes with an electroluminescence layer interposed between them. Each of the corresponding line electrodes in different EL blocks is electrically connected with each other through a wire. A drive current is applied to the line electrodes of a plurality of EL blocks connected through the wire, and to the flat plate electrode of the EL block to be caused to emit luminescence respectively by two panel driver ICs when causing the panel light source to emit the readout light beam.

    Abstract: A conventional flat bed greyscale digitizing scanner which operates in conjunction with reflective media is retrofitted with an adapter assembly which permits it additionally to process X-ray film transparencies. Accordingly, the resulting apparatus, in addition to performing digitization of data imprinted on reflective media, is also capable of digitizing X-ray images on X-ray film transparencies. The adapter assembly is constructed to be easily mounted on a conventional flat bed scanner to permit the scanner to process the film transparencies, and to be easily removable from the conventional scanner to permit the scanner to operate in a conventional mode to process reflective media. The scanner may be constructed to perform transparency digitization and to provide an optical density dynamic range greater than the prior art CCD technology used in the more expensive machines will allow.

    Abstract: An apparatus for producing x-ray images by computer radiography has a storage plate on which x-rays are incident after passing through an examination subject, and an image reader for detecting the photo-stimulatable luminescence of the storage plate. The storage plate has a carrier which is impenetrable by the radiation beams used for detecting the luminescence, the carrier having two major flat sides each having a photostimulatable storage layer thereon. Each side has a read-out system associated therewith for double sided read-out of the storage plate. By undertaking a double-sided read-out, increased absorption of the x-rays in the storage plate can be exploited, and thus a correspondingly increased efficiency in the read-out can be obtained.

    Abstract: Apparatus for reading out individual X-ray images recorded on a double-emulsion radiographic film or on separate films that were coincident when exposed simultaneously to a polyenergetic or broad X-ray photon energy spectrum beam emergent from a body and where an image corresponding to one obtained with a low energy part of the spectrum is formed on one film and an image corresponding to a higher energy part of the spectrum is formed on the other. One readout apparatus is for the case of two separate films which, after development, are illuminated from the back and optically scanned to derive analog signals representative of the intensities of spatially corresponding picture elements on each film. Another apparatus is for the case where the two images are on opposite sides of a film and are represented by alternate fine image information lines obtained by interposing a grid during the X-ray exposure. Another is for the case where a reflective layer is disposed between the film images during readout. In all cases the films are optically scanned and the resulting analog signals are digitized and variously processed to yield an image representative of that which is different between the two original different energy images.
