    摘要： A process cartridge is disclosed integrally supporting an electrophotographic photosensitive member, an intermediate transfer belt, a primary-transfer member for transferring a toner image primarily from the electrophotographic photosensitive member to the intermediate transfer belt and a charge-providing member for providing the toner on the intermediate transfer belt with electric charges having a polarity reverse to the polarity the toner has at the time of the primary transfer and returning the toner on the intermediate transfer belt to the electrophotographic photosensitive member at the contact zone to clean the intermediate transfer belt. The intermediate transfer belt has a modulus of elasticity of from 500 MPa to 4,000 MPa at elongation from 0.5% to 0.6% in the peripheral direction, a breaking extension of from 5% to 850% in the peripheral direction and a surface roughness Ra of 1 &mgr;m or less.

    摘要： A full-color image forming apparatus for forming an image on a transfer material by transferring a toner image formed on an image bearing member onto the transfer material includes a belt-shaped transfer member for transferring a toner image from the image bearing member onto a transfer material, and a cleaning blade for cleaning the belt-shaped transfer member by being brought into contact therewith. Shape coefficients SF-1 and SF-2 of a toner for forming the toner image have values of 100≦SF-1≦125, and 100≦SF-2≦125, respectively. The belt-shaped transfer member has a seamless shape in which a seam is absent. An amount of abrasion of a surface of the belt-shaped transfer member is equal to or less than 10.0 mg. An angle of contact with respect to water of the belt-shaped transfer member is at least 60°. A slide resistance of a surface of the belt-shaped transfer member is equal to or less than 1 N.

    摘要： An electrophotographic endless belt has a beltlike substrate and a meandering-preventive member attached to the inner peripheral surface of the beltlike substrate via a pressure-sensitive adhesive, double-coated tape. The pressure-sensitive adhesive, double-coated tape is a pressure-sensitive adhesive, double-coated tape having i) a reinforcing base material and ii) pressure-sensitive adhesive layers on both sides of the reinforcing base material. The reinforcing base material has a thickness of from 25 μm or more to 200 μm or less, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers on both sides each have a thickness of 200 μm or less and at least one of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layers has a thickness of from more than 100 μm to 200 μm or less, and the meandering-preventive member has a hardness of from 15° or more to 70° or less. Also disclosed are a process cartridge and an electrophotographic apparatus which have the electrophotographic endless belt as an intermediate transfer belt.

    摘要： An intermediate transfer member is formed by at least a base layer and a surface layer. The base layer is formed by epichlorohydrin rubber and acrylonitrile-butadiene rubber mixed in a certain weight ratio (preferably 1:9 to 9:1). The surface layer is formed by urethane resin or elastomer and a fluorine-containing compound powder. The fluorine-containing compound powder may preferably be contained in an amount of 20-80 wt. % based on the surface layer. The intermediate transfer member is suitable for full-color image formation by electrophotography and is effective in improving a transfer performance and providing clear images without causing transfer failure even in repetitive use for a long period.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes: a first image-bearing member, an intermediate transfer member for receiving an image formed on the first image-bearing member and transferring the image onto a second image-bearing member, pattern-forming means for forming a prescribed pattern on the intermediate transfer member, density detection means for detecting a density of the pattern, and control means for controlling image forming conditions based on the detected density. The intermediate transfer member is set to have a reflectance of 10-70% for light having a wavelength in the range of 700-1500 nm at least in a region thereof for forming the prescribed pattern. As a result, the pattern density detection is suitably performed on the intermediate transfer member for all of yellow, magenta cyan and black, and the detected density data is used for controlling the image forming conditions.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a first image-forming member such as an electrophotographic photosensitive member, and an intermediate transfer member for receiving an image formed on the first image-bearing member and transferring the image onto a second image-bearing member such as plain paper. The intermediate transfer member has a surface layer comprising a binder and a powder dispersed therein. The binder is adjusted to have a tensile strength of at least 300 kg-f/cm.sup.2, an elongation of at least 150%, and a tensile stress of at most 250 kg-f/cm.sup.2 at an elongation of 100%. The powder may be a lubricating powder or an electroconductive powder.
