    Abstract: A squeeze film damper bearing assembly includes a bearing and a squirrel cage radially outward of and supporting the bearing. The squirrel cage includes a first piston ring groove, a second piston ring groove, and a first pocket connected to the first piston ring groove. The squeeze film damper bearing assembly also includes a first piston ring configured to fit into the first piston ring groove. The first piston ring includes a first end circumferentially spaced apart from a second end and an ear configured to fit into the first pocket to prevent the first piston ring from rotating in the first piston ring groove. The squeeze film damper bearing assembly also includes a second piston ring configured to fit into the second piston ring groove and a stationary housing radially outward of the squirrel cage.

    Abstract: A system is provided that includes a support structure and a nozzle. The support structure includes a cavity surface and an aperture. The cavity surface at least partially forms a boundary of a cavity. The aperture extends partially into the support structure from the cavity surface. The nozzle includes a mount, a neck and a head. The mount is seated within the aperture. The neck is connected to the mount and extends axially along a centerline away from the surface to the head. The head is configured to inject fluid out of the nozzle and into the cavity.

    Abstract: A seal assembly for a bearing compartment includes a coupler with a lip, seal plate, nut, and air seal land. The seal plate is disposed on and around the coupler and is in contact with the lip. The nut is disposed within the bearing compartment and adjoining the seal plate. The nut includes first, second, and third major portions and first and second intermediate portions. Each of the first, second, and third major portions is in the shape of an annular band. The second major portion is disposed axially between the first and third major portions. The third major portion includes a knife edge seal extending radially outward. The first and second intermediate portions include frustums and extend between the first and second major portions and second and third major portions, respectively. The air seal land is sealingly engaged with the third major portion of the nut.
