    摘要: A locking fastener utilizing an inserted key preferably includes a fastener and a lock key. The fastener includes a drive head and a threaded shank. The drive head is preferably a countersunk head. A drive cavity is formed in a top of the drive head. The threaded shank extends from a bottom of the drive head. The lock key preferably includes a tapered head and a shank. The shank extends downward from a bottom of the tapered head. A head projection extends outward from a rear of the tapered head. At least one shank projection extends outward from a front of the shank. A key slot is formed in a side of the drive head and a side of the threaded shank. A head retention slot is formed in the key slot, adjacent a top of the drive head to receive the head tapered projection.

    摘要: A method of locking a handguard relative to an upper receiver of a firearm. The method includes providing a wedge assembly having a top wedge member and a bottom wedge member, each having complementary inclined surfaces; a barrel nut that is configured to receive an outer portion of an upper receiver; and a handguard that is configured to receive the barrel nut and the combined wedge assembly within a lower lip of the handguard. The wedge assembly may include an optional assembly screw and a locator pin where the top wedge member and bottom wedge member are tightly joined to each other via the assembly screw and the locater pin. In use, the lock-up system is used to join the handguard and barrel nut to a corresponding upper receiver with little to no play between the handguard and the upper receiver such that the connection between the two via the wedge assembly is intended to be permanent.

    摘要: An eyebolt assembly is provided in which a skirt member is reinforced by radially projecting diametrically extending ribs. A fixed lifting eye projects from one side of the skirt, and a mounting stud projects from the opposite side. The mounting stud is double threaded with one thread being adapted to mate with a threaded bore in the body of the eyebolt assembly, and the other thread being matched to a threaded bore in a load. The same eyebolt body can be employed with a plurality of different mounting studs, which simplifies inventorying eyebolt assemblies to meet all of the different threaded bores that may occur in different loads. Only the mounting studs need to be threaded to match the loads. The skirts are provided with striking faces so that they can be tightened and loosened by striking them with a hammer.

A tip portion (30) can be folded to either sides with the direction extending along the bolt axis as a center. Grooves (18a-18g) for storing the foldable part (30) are formed on a tip surface (a surface from which the tip of the bolt projects out when the bolt and the nut are tightened) of the nut (12) or the knob (18). A number of the grooves is an odd number. The grooves are arranged radially with equal angular intervals with a center at a screw hole of the nut. For example, seven grooves are arranged radially with equal angular intervals. In this case, the angle between adjacent two grooves is about 51.4 degrees, and this angle is to be an expected angular resolution of the rotation prohibition. However, according to the above mentioned set of the bolt and the nut, the expected angular resolution can be halved (i.e. 25.7 degrees).
