Abstract: An RF antenna system includes a first unit that further includes first attachment means that secures the first unit to a window, and an antenna. The first unit additionally includes an RF transceiver, coupled to the antenna, that receives, via the antenna, incoming RF signals and converts the RF signals to first electrical signals; and first optical means that transmits the first electrical signals as first optical signals through the first surface of the window. The RF antenna system also includes a second unit that includes second attachment means that secures the second unit to the window. The second unit also includes second optical means that receive the first optical signals through the second surface of the window, convert the first optical signals to first digital signals, and transmit the first digital signals to a device connected to the second unit.

Abstract: A system described herein may provide a mechanism for identifying unique sources of interference in a wireless telecommunication network. A unique noise signature, associated with a particular source of radio frequency (“RF”) interference, may be identified by detecting physical resource blocks (“PRBs”), in a sector, that exhibit excessive interference, as compared to surrounding PRBs. The unique noise signature may be detected across multiple sectors, and a location of the interference source may be determined. Corrective action may be taken once an interference source is detected, such as by ceasing to utilize, or by reducing the utilization of, affected PRBs.

Abstract: A system includes a phased array antenna. The phased array antenna includes a rear panel that has: a first array of phase shift elements; and a second array of rear antenna elements. The phased array antenna also includes a front panel that has a third array of front antenna elements. Each of the front antenna elements is electrically coupled to a corresponding one of the rear antenna elements through one of the phase shift elements. When the second array of rear antenna elements receives a radio signal from a base station and the first array of phase shift elements receives an optical control beam from the base station, the third array of antenna elements radiates an output radio signal in a direction indicated by the optical control beam.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may include a memory, a communication interface, an antenna, and one or more processors. The one or more processors operate to identify a plurality of networks available for connection via the communication interface and the antenna assembly. Virtual user equipment (VUE) for two or more of the identified plurality of networks are allocated and the UE device connects to the two or more networks using the respective VUEs. Network characteristics are identified for the connections with the plurality of networks. Data flows for the device are identified. The identified data flows are assigned to the VUEs based on the identified network characteristics.

Abstract: A method may include obtaining connection-related data associated with user equipment (UE) devices operating in a network, wherein the UE devices include unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and devices other than UAVs. The method may include storing the connection-related data; identifying, in the stored connection-related data, data associated with known UAVs and filtering the stored connection-related data based on a distance associated with a known UAV. The method may further include training a machine learning classifier using the filtered data and executing the machine learning classifier to identity UAVs operating in the network.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) device may determine its location with a high degree of precision, beyond the capability of other current methodologies. Specifically, a UE device may obtain High Precision (HIP) coordinates of its location based on Random Access Channel (RACH) messages that the UE device exchanges with multiple wireless stations. Using RACH messages to obtain HIP coordinates imposes little communication overhead or computational burden on the UE device and the network.
