Abstract: A Next Generation network device receives, from a user equipment device (UE), a Service Request for establishing a Multimedia Priority Services (MPS) session. The Next Generation network device determines whether the Service Request includes a MPS fallback request to request network fallback from a Next Generation network to a Fourth Generation (4G) network for the MPS session. The device causes, based on the Service Request including the MPS fallback request, establishment of the MPS session from the UE device via the 4G network by performing one of: a handover procedure from the Next Generation network to the 4G network, or a Radio Resource Control (RRC) redirection procedure from the Next Generation network to the 4G network.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide reliable voice connections and highest possible data rates in New Radio dual-connectivity environments, given limitations of available spectrum. A system includes a first wireless station and a second wireless station. The first wireless station provides a shared spectrum of a first frequency band, the shared spectrum including a first spectrum for a first cellular wireless standard and a second spectrum for a second cellular wireless standard. The second wireless station is at least partially within a coverage area of the first wireless station and provides a third spectrum for the second cellular wireless standard. The third spectrum is a millimeter wave (mmWave) spectrum. The first wireless station broadcasts cell parameters barring an end device in an idle mode from camping on the second spectrum. The first wireless station or the second wireless station triggers the end device to swap to the second spectrum when a paging request for a voice call is received.

Abstract: A device may receive, from an application function device (AF), a message intended for a destination user device, wherein the message conforms to a first format. The device may obtain, from a unified data management device (UDM), information indicating that the destination user device is capable of receiving messages that conform to a second format. The device may convert, based on the information indicating that the destination user device is capable of receiving messages that conform to the second format, the message from the first format to the second format. The device may send, after converting the message from the first format to the second format, the message to a short message service function device (SMSF) via a direct connection between the device and the SMSF, wherein the SMSF sends the message to the destination user device.

Abstract: A method may include establishing a Fifth Generation (5G) a network connection with a user equipment (UE) device and receiving, by a 5G wireless station, information associated with handling voice communication sessions for the UE device. The method may also include receiving information, from the UE device or directed to the UE device, associated with a first voice communication session, signaling a Fourth Generation (4G) wireless station to establish a connection to the UE device, in response to receiving the information associated with the first voice communication session and establishing, by the 4G wireless station, a connection to the UE device. The method may further include conducting the first voice communication session over a 4G network, determining whether the first voice communication session has terminated and determining whether to reconnect to the 5G network, in response to determining that the first voice communication session has terminated.
